Hi All,
In counterpart to the vision question, i'm wondering if PAP affects hearing? my ears have been quasi clogged for a good 18 months (went to a couple of ENTs) and i've only started CPAP a few weeks ago - i do feel pressure in the ear (estucheon tubes?) many nights - so i'm wondering if anyone knows whether it causes any damage, permanent, etc. - mind you, even hearing loss probably pales to the ill effects of untreated OSA, but i didn't know if anyone had ear/hearing tips or thoughts - thanks!
xPAP and ear/hearing issues?
Re: xPAP and ear/hearing issues?
I'd say it does, as the with the eyes, the plumbing is all hooked together. But I would rather put up with the discomfort of treatment, than the good chanch of dieing with perfect hearing and eyesight. Jim

Um, could you repeat that? (i'm such a wiseguy)
seriously, i do wonder what pressure in the ear canal does nightly - can't be good - though would be funny if it dries out the canal, reduces bacteria, etc. - though probably not...

Hearing and eyesight have been slowly deteriorating. Been on PAP 9 yrs. Is it PAP related or ageing related? Who would know?

But if you had died 7 years ago from not using XPAP treatment, your eyes would have been 7 years younger and probably worked better. JimGuest wrote:Hearing and eyesight have been slowly deteriorating. Been on PAP 9 yrs. Is it PAP related or ageing related? Who would know?
