I DO have a data card. My DME told me not to insert it until I want to collect the data and bring it in to him to print a report for my Doc. Can it stay in the machine or should it be used only when collecting data to read with the software?Mikosiko wrote:do you have the data card right?... if so.. insert it into the machine and it will store the data (180 summary sessions and the last 4 detailed sessions).. when you got your card reader/software and install both... you will be able to look at your data.... but for now using the display you can look your information
and yes... no weekly data yet... until 4 days more.

You should leave the card in all the time. Also the information might not print or show up until later in the day. My machine is set up that way.

I'm not sure it is the same for Resmeds as it is for Respironics, but I keep my card in all the time and only take it out to download each night's information. As I said, though it might be different for Resmeds.

I'm a Resmed user - if your machine is the same as mine, simply hold down the left and right keys at the same time for a few seconds to enter the results menu. The machines flick over to a new day at mid-day, assuming that the clock is set correctly. To change the clock you need to access the clinical menu (as per someone elses instructions above), but on the occasions that I've done it it prompts you to clear all data (and if you don't, it doesn't change the time - so in a way "it's an offer you can't refuse").
On my machine (and I suspect other Resmed's too), if you're in APAP mode then ramping is disabled - it enables settling instead. With settling the unit starts at it's minimum setting and will stay there until the settling time has passed - only then will it increase the pressure as required.
Personally - after experimenting with my unit over several nights - I changed my minimum pressure from 4 to 7, and have left it there ever since. On 4 I felt like I wasn't getting enough air whilst I was awake, and past 7 it was a bit hard on ears and eustation tubes (I seem to need re: acclimatising to it on a daily basis - above 7 is uncomfortable to start the night with, but 13 is "just right" when I wake up in the morning!)
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Colin

I am thinking there definitely is a difference with the data cards between the M Series and the ResMed's. I too keep my M series data card in the machine at all times. However, it must be ResMed because it will only allow me to download and remove the card .. still trying to figure it out.

Resmed machine are different that Respironic... in the Resmed you have to insert the card for a few seconds everyday before noon, wait for a message in the display that inform you that the data has been copied to the card and take the card out... and don't listen to your DME... start collecting your data immediately, doing so you will be able to have your history and detailed information for each day, otherwise you just will get just summary information and detail only for the last 3-4 days before.Bluebonnet_Gal wrote:Mikosiko wrote:

In the Respironic machines the card should be permanently inserted for collect data... but the machine can be used without it.

Make sure that when you go to your doctor to talk about this take your card and have him down load it and review it with you. He does get paid by the insurance company for reading it.

Here's how to look at your nightly data (AHI, leaks) from the LCD panel on the Resmed machines (post from rested gal) : viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9820&p=84614&#p84553
