I could not run mine on the 12 volt because it was lowering the pressure. I just got a 12 volt inverter and that took care of the issue. Two 12 volt deep cycles wired parallel would keep me breathing for a week of camping. No heated humidifier, but it was no big deal.
Battery Power Rules!
What cpap do you have ? Edsel.. Actually, 12 volts is misleading. Its at about 50% at 12 volts. 13 volts is fully charged. If you check the voltage of your car while running it is about 13.5 -14 volts. Charging as high as 16 . My cpap has 13 volts printed on it. If your cpap is droping pressure your battery is really weak or really small . A normal auto battery should have no problem running a modern cpap for 1 night. The drain will be barely noticable with a voltmeter.

Re: Battery Power Rules!
Hi, I'm a newbie so please bear with me.
I travel in countries with unreliable electricity outages, some brief, and others longer.
Can anyone recommend a travel battery pack that can power my S8 through the night and and be recharged via the mains during the day (I do not take the humidifier on these brief trips).
I have a Resmed S8 2.5A CPAP and need an 8 hr night.
I see the Respironics Battery Pack at around USD 230, and wonder if it is compatible with the Resmed.
Thanks
