Snoredog did not display "brutal honesty" but rather just plain brutality with that personal attack on Ozij - to borrow her word. I have been troubled since this appeared yesterday and could only think of the word "brutal"! That's what it was, clearly.
It is disgraceful that, a person who has so much knowledge of sleep apnea and cpap equipment and who can be very helpful sinks, periodically, to this low level. It's a shame that he does this on a forum, designed to help when he could better spend his time helping.
I'm sad to say that there are a couple of others who sink to this same level every so often. It appears, to me, to be just plain jealousy and ego tripping on the part of those who are called upon, by name, by new posters to give assistance and advice, because their advice in particular, is desired. Why can't they just do that and not try to negate other members who, it appears, threaten them? It appears that these few think they cannot be wrong and anyone who suggests they are or offers other advice, is targetted for abuse. We saw others "follow suite" when Snoredog said this. He, apparently becomes a role model in these attacks. I have seen others say that this is the "nature of forums like this" or it is all "in jest". That shouldn't be the way it is.
So much is lost when threads deteriorate like this or threads like this are started.
I wonder how many new people who come, sincerely and naively, asking for guidance , see this and never return.
I'm sure there are many who do not post for fear on being maligned in this manner. Some of them retaliate in kind and swell the ranks of that brutal group that, every so often, begins to attack each other and other helpful people on the forum.
It is totally appalling, to me, that such a forum could have members, who can be very helpful, choose to sink to this level.
