Respironics m bipap software

Post by georegpds » Mon Nov 24, 2008 9:48 am

I have a BiPAP Plus M Series with Bi-Flex (1), and was interested in getting the software and card reader to go with this device. I think I've located it , the Respironics EncoreViewer Software 1.0 (2)with the associated smart card reader (Encore Smart Card Reader - USB) (3)

I'm new to all this, and might be mistaken. Can someone confirm this software works with the above machine

The only information you get from Respironics' "Plus" series machines is how many hours you've used the machine. This true for the BiPAP Plus too.

So , while the software may be capable of reading the data the machine collects - that data is worthless for you.

You need to upgrade to the M Series Bipap Auto to get full data capability.

George,

The M Series BiPAP Plus does not come with a smart card. If someone attached a card module and put a smart card in it, they are a bafoon. This machine will write NOTHING to a smart card EVEN if there is a card module installed.

Like others have stated, you need the BiPAP Auto if you want data.

That's not quite right Zoot... need to get the PRO to get data... the Auto will just get you more flexibility.

For a bipap they need the old Bipap Tank Pro 2 or the Bipap Auto (tank or m series).

For the straight CPAP, the Pro m series does provide data. For the tank models the Pro does not. but the Pro 2 does.

I have a Respironics M Series BiPAP Plus with BiFlex and it does have a Smart Card in it. I have taken it in to my DME and had it read. I don't know how much info it shows (I didn't see it).

The smart card module used with the "plus" will show compliance data (hours used per night).

I don't see a M Series Pro in the BiPap, only the Plus and Auto. I see a RemStar Pro with Cflex.

I will say it again, THE BIPAP M SERIES PLUS DOES NOT SUPPORT DATA COLLECTION VIA A SMARTCARD!!!! If your DME is telling you they are getting ANY kindof data off the smartcard from your BiPAP Plus M Series, they are straight out lying to you. The ONLY, the ONLY, the ONLY M Series BiPAP that supports data collection via the smartcard is the M Series BiPAP Auto. The only way your DME (or you for that matter) can get data from an M Series BiPAP Plus is to look directly at the machine and read it off the LCD screen. Or you could look at the screen yourself and “Phone in compliance” to your DME. That’s what the “*These models only offer phone-in compliance data” means on the graph in the link posted above from the Respironics website.
