Thanks for posting this topic! Woke up most mornings drenched in perspiration. Bundle up with blankets to stay warm, always thought I over did it. It was like a ran five miles overnight.

Since starting treatment, the sweating and other odd physical anomalies have vanished. What is so startling, some of these physical oddities were noticeable some twenty years ago. Speculating I had mild Apnea for some years, moderate or worse most recently.

Rather than lament about not noticing sooner, I'm grateful the Doctor caught it. I was going to cancel the Sleep Study 24 hours before, convinced he was wrong.

take care,

SG

I had night sweats. Although I'm not sure if it was the diabetes or the apnea causing it. It is more likely it was the diabetes and soaring blood sugar because my blood sugar was corrected first and i have had no night sweats since.

I had the night sweats. Thought they were related to peri-menopause and menopause. I had a sudden surgical menopause, night sweats, but NO hot flashes. Strange, until I started CPAP. The night sweats (and pounding heart) disappeared. Might be a signal that if a woman has night sweats but not hot flashes, it could be sleep apnea.

I had night sweats, soaking the pillow, hair would be wet and smelly. If I fell asleep watching TV, even for five minutes, my hair would be soaked. The sweats ended with CPAP treatment

I had night sweats every night and what seemed like all night. I also had some sweats during the day. Tried several different hormone therapies, none worked. Haven't had one since starting xpap. That alone was enough reason to keep me using the machine!

Reading this made me realize that in the month or so that I have been "hosed", I no longer sweat at night. I am a 60 yr. old female, so menopause was not the issue.
I also have not had much trouble with my IBS. I think I have only had one bout of it since APAP.

I never gave it a thought until I saw this post. Three weeks on the machine, and my night sweats are history. In the past, I would have to turn a fan on in an attempt to keep it from happening.
Thanks for mentioning it.

First time I have heard of this association. I don't think I have been any less hot since starting CPAP. Of course, my OSA is overall pretty mild. My AHI is normal until REM sleep.

When you sleep, your temp goes down. Men do this every night. With women it depends on your cycle. Before ovulation, your temp goes down at night. After ovulation, it stays up and doesn't got down again until your period begins (this is why you take temp readings before getting up to determine if/when you ovulate). I often wake up during this time of the month warmer than usual but I think that would be normal.
