Help with broken Remstar Plus CPAP

Post by brandtb1 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:42 am

I have a resporinics remstar plus CPAP and it is giving me an error code of E-25. I have asked the question about why it is giving that error, and I think the circuit board is messed up. My question is does anyone know where to take the machine in the Nashville area to get someone to look at it. I took the cover off and checked the tubes and everything looks fine, so I doubt I can fix it. I do not want to pay another $800 to get a new machine from CPAP.com, but I wonder if it is fixable. I got the machine from a lady that worked at the place where I had the sleep study done, and now I cannot find her. I have had the machine for three and a half years, so the warranty is no longer valid. There was one company that started sending me supplies on a regular basis and I told them to stop, and now I cannot find out who they were. I have also thought about looking in the yellow pages and calling around, but does anyone know of a good place to take it? Thanks in advance for your help.

No one really works on them, Resproinics wont sell parts. If the board is really fried you best start looking for a new machine. If you are happy with a Plus machine there are several on cpapauction.com for a reasonable price. A lot of people sell slightly used Plus machines because they find they need a fully data capable machine. The only way you can find out about fixing one is th have a DME (medical supplier) send it to the factory. They will not except it from the end user (you). They will check it and give an estimate as to the cost of repair before they fix it unless it is still covered under warrenty. If it is not cost effective to repair all it will cost is the postage and handling to send it to the factory.

Your best bet would be to get your script, and buy a new data capable machine from https://www.cpap.com/ or their Auction site, unless your INS will replace your machine. Since you bought your own, that doesn't sound likely. When shopping, ask them for their best price to by-pass the price fixing MAP. Jim
