Resmed Vantage autoset pressure question

Post by Mikeyd » Wed Nov 12, 2008 10:39 pm

When I checked my daily efficiency it read pressure 10.2 Does that mean 10.2 is the highest reading of the night, the average or what? Thanks,

The Efficacy results report the 95th percentile of pressure which is the pressure AT OR BELOW which you spent 95% of the night. Or, to look at it another way you spent 5% of the night above 10.2 cms of pressure.

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I'm getting used to the machine but the mask is killing me. Still lookng for the perfect full mask.

Which one are you using? Maybe you have yours too tight......unless it has the word "Comfort" in it......then it's probably not the mask for you (or me, or many other people).

I am a mouth breather at times so I need the full face mask. I am using the Remed Mirage Quattro. Unless I have to straps quite tight I get leakage and have tried the forhead positioner in every position possibly. I don't mind the tightness but it is killing the bridge at the top of my nose. If I move the mask out just a little it leaks at higher pressures. What I did today was I removed the cushion and took a small file and filed away just a little bit of the mask itself where it hits the bridge of my nose where the mask forms the V at the top. I only filed away less than 1/16th. of an inch in depth. and from the top down about 5/8th. of a inch. Does that make sense? It doesn't seem to make any difference on the mask cushing seal but it seems to do away with the sharp edge that was irritating my nose. We shall see and I'll let you know how it works out. I really filed off very little but would rather take off to little than to much.

Usually for bridge of the nose problems loosening the top straps and tightening the bottom straps can bring some relief.

Have you done the "Teflon tape fix" yet? If not, that mask will feel like it's leaking EVERYWHERE. If your pressure is only at about 10 cm., you should hardly have to tighten that mask at all.

Here's a link to Mindy's thread about the fixes to the mask. (it's already on the front page of the forum)
