Res Traxx?

Post by LoQ » Tue Nov 11, 2008 9:46 pm

What is Res Traxx used for? I searched the internet and turned up nothing helpful. I saw it somewhere related to a ResMed machine.

I googled it and found it is a disposable mask designed for hospital use with ventilator patients.

Nope, nope. ResTraxx is a system developed by Resmed to track patients' data online. Go to the Resmed site and search on ResTraxx. I've forgotten most about it now.
ResTraxx™

Web-Based Patient Compliance Monitoring

The ResTraxx System is the first of its kind for wireless, remote monitoring. It is designed and developed by ResMed, global leaders in sleep and respiratory medicine.

Web-based monitoring in three easy steps

Check on all your patients at a glance.
Zoom in for more information.
Quickly identify causes of noncompliance.
Exception reporting: the smart way to manage multiple patients

Easily identify those patients who fall outside desired thresholds for usage or mask leak.
Focus your efforts only on those patients who require intervention.
ResTraxx Wireless: unmatched benefits

Simplify data capture—no need for phone lines, modems, cards and readers; less reliance on patients for data transfer.
Improve staff efficiencies—reduced patient and physician phone calls; no need for reminder calls or home visits to retrieve data.
It fits on the Resmed xPAP in the same way that ResLink does and in fact looks like a ResLink except that in place of the data card slot and cover there is a rather short stubby antennae.

I doubt there is any sleep lab or clinic in the US interested in their patients enough to spend the money to buy such a system.

Thanks for the answers. It doesn't sound like something that would help me track my own therapy.

Sorry, I followed this link and made too quick assumptions.

No need to apologize, kteague. And - I rather appreciate the link you gave. That Non'Vented Full Face Hospital mask looks rather intriguing. I like the looks of the headgear AND the flexibility at the forehead/bridge of nose area. Now why the devil doesn't Resmed try adapting THAT to one of their xPAP masks? Wha' choo tink???
