Thank you to all vets of all wars. We all benefit from your sacrifices!!!!

And to the kind words expressed here -- Thank you. For me, a veteran of Vietnam, it means more than you can know.......

cheers

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

As an american, I would also like to say thank you to all those served, Vets, POWs, MIAs, and everyone who has supported them. Though I don't agree with the policies of the government, I think it takes great courage to become a soldier.

As an expat living in Flanders (in Belgium), let me say that people here are still grateful for what the Americans did, in WWI and especially WWII. I know someone who works for the Army here, and they are STILL to this day pulling out unexploded bombs from random farmers' fields. They usually find a few every year. I haven't visited any of the memorials they have here, but they are full of Americans and British who lost their lives fighting in Flanders. And people know it and appreciate it.

BTW thanks for the Poem and the info on the Poppies. I never knew where it came from.
