respironics M versus non m series

Post by elader » Sun Nov 09, 2008 9:41 pm

Hi All,

I have been using a remstar M series plus cflex machine for a month now. Average 7.4 hours a niht and feel great. I traveled with it this week and it was scary dragging that thing around. Makes me wish for a backup to have at home. Anyway, my neighbor has an essentially brand new remstar non-m series plus with cflex which she will essentially donate to me. It has like 10 hours on it. I set the pressure to 8, cflex at 3 (like on mine), and tried it on. Well the humidifier and its settings seem cludgy, but the thing seems much quieter than the m series. It also felt to me that the cflex does not provide as much relief.

I am interested to know about the consensus about the differences between these two machines. The drop in noise level seems nice, but are there drawbacks?

One is will built, and will last a long time, the other probably will fail sooner. The good news the one you got for free, is the better of the two. The bad news, neither can use the software and reader to monitor your treatment. However you did well, it's always good to have a back-up for everything. Jim

Maybe your neighbor that doesn't use her CPAP, will "Will" you her car, idf the non-compliance finishes her off.
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
