Others are noting the same problem but have not indicated if they are or not, which is why I asked.plr66 wrote:Yes--as was noted in my original post.fortomorrow wrote:Are you guys blowing your nose afterward like you're supposed to? What about inhaling the water back through your nose into your mouth? It's really important that you get rid of all the excess water after neti.

Have you always wanted to try the Liberty? Test drive it here!
Re: Nasal Rinse Schmazel Vince!
Just for clarity, using a neti pot does not "squirt" anything up the nose. Using the pot is pouring a steady stream of warm water into one nostril where ----- because of gravity and proper positioning ---- the water flows out the other nostril....along with things it is washing away.
I am wondering if anyone with "after run" problems is using the neti pot? What I have read so far here seems to lean toward the "squirt bottle" method being used by those who are having rinse problems.
I don't like water "up" my nose either.....or doing any squirting of things. Using the neti pot properly is nothing like that for me. Flowing creek vs. a squirting geyser....

When I get stuffy, I put a little dab of vicks with a q-tip inside my nostrils, and it opens them up and really helps with the breathing all night long.

plr66,
Yes, I have that same problem. Just as congested after rinsing as before. I did go to an ENT, as recommended by Snoredog and others. He said I had a deviated septum, but wasn't bad enough to consider surgery. That's easy for him to say, he doesn't have to wear a mask! I try to rinse at least 2 hours before I go to bed. I hang upside down, jump, blow, etc. Ten tissues and two hours later, when I bend over to tie my hair up to fit under the Cpap Cap, more water drips out. I still do it because I believe it does wash out the allergens, but it is one of the nightly rituals that don't seem to be working for me.

Re: Nasal Rinse Schmazel Vince!
I mentioned this problem to my wife, who introduced me to the neti pot, and she said, "Tell them to touch their toes ten times." What? I said, thinking she was joking.OutaSync wrote:I try to rinse at least 2 hours before I go to bed. But she wasn't. She said she'd read somewhere that if you bend down and touch your right hand to your left toe, return to upright, then bend over and touch your left hand to your right toe, and do it ten times (or whatever), that it helps jostle the water out of the sinuses at the top of your head. I think the idea is to bend over again and again to help the water work its way out.
I don't know. I've never had this problem. But my wife has, if not to the extent described here.
Anyway, I figured it might be worth mentioning. Seems safer, I think, than shaking and convulsing as David Byrne does while performing "Once in a Lifetime" during Stop Making Sense. . . .

My Cousin Vince Schmazel wants you to quit using his name in vain.
Nath, I like your toe touching image!
Where is my beautiful wife? Where is my large automobile?

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
