Stunned by Zero Responses...

Post by plr66 » Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:27 pm

Just don't understand how it is possible here that 140 people viewed my post entitled "Trade Swift LT or OptiLife nasal pillows, anyone?", and not a single response was made, either by PM or on the forum. I would love to have others explain why this might be.

Those who have either of these masks, have 2 or 3 different sized nasal pillows that they do not and will not ever use. Do people just throw them away? Do people just throw away their mask when the pillows no longer hold up well? If so, then what an incredible waste!! It would take maybe a dollar to mail a pillow in a padded envelope. Trading could be on a long term, ongoing basis for those who stick with the same mask. I had thought that trading parts of masks and machines was common here, but apparently not. I'm not angry---just totally baffled. To buy a spare costs $30!

So help me out here, folks. What's up with this?

I saw your post and would love to trade, however I use the medium on my swift LT, as do you.

well, I don't use either masks, so that's why I didn't respond - can't speak for the rest though.

good luck,

I'm sure it wasn't anything personal, plr66. It could be that anyone who read your note and also uses either of the masks that you listed also uses the same size or already had traded their unneeded ones away. And sometimes threads just get missed, unfortunately. Once they move down the line a way, they're often just not seen. And I, like others, use a different mask, so I can't help you. Sorry. Why don't you give it a few days and try again? I don't remember when you posted your note, but sometimes the time of day can make a difference. There seems to be a lot of traffic about mid-morning, so that might be a good time to give it another try. Good luck!

OMG, I certainly wasn't even close taking it personally! These are both pretty popular masks, I've noticed here, so I just think it would be amazing if everyone uses Medium!

You're right; they are popular masks. I must admit it surprised me to learn you had no responses. That's what made me wonder if your note just happened to be missed.

It is very possible that many people do wear the medium. It is, after all, an "average" size. I have the OptiLife and use the medium pillows as well.

The gull of some people...

You are starting to sound like that whacked-out clown myth712, I'd say save your money on a mask and go get your head examined instead, it would be money better spent.

What does this mean, and why such a mean-spirited response?

I use that mask ... in fact I'm set for life with 3 Swift LTs and 6 pairs of large pillows.

I traded all my pillows earlier this year with a two-fer-one special ... sorry you missed out. I also tried to give away two Opus's and had only one taker so I put the other up on the auction site and it sold for $5 .... you gotta stay awake for some of these deals.

You should start/rename your thread "Nasal Pillow Secret Santa exchange" and let those who have spares of sizes they don't use the opportunity to list, and exchange pillows. Spread the luv around. Oh wow, look what I got for Christmas....a set of nasal pillows and they fit!!!!

Eh, that's just our resident "ole curmudgeon", SnoreDog. He gets embarrassed when he posts something helpful or nice and so has to make up for it by making a "nasty" post just to balance things out. Don't take it personal.
