Isn't that what we do when we secure a data capiable machine and the software and reader, and become a member of CpapTalk. I can't imagine anything another third party could do that would be better than I can do for myself with the help of CpapTalk. At no added cost. Jim

Jim,

Maybe they are picking up ideas from this forum? Maybe now, they're thinking that if you can't beat them, join them?

Maybe they are even sincere or one of them found out they have sleep apnea and need to learn more in how to care for themselves? If so, they came to the right site.

The site isn't up yet and I have to wonder if it will in the near future. It would be interesting to see how they manage it. Will they stay the same as they are now (no interest) or will they learn to be like the good folks on this forum?

Since it is Coviden partnering with another company it may be possible they are serious. They, do afterall, provide software and machine that detects cardiac oscillations, (central apneas) and central hypopneas, which other machines don't yet, except maybe respironics and PB.

Time will tell...

I hope they do go through with this in a positive way. As much as I rely on this forum and enjoy it, it's not everyone's "cup of tea" so I think that having alternative support mechanisms for those of us with sleep apnea is an excellent concept. I'll be watching to see what/how they deliver but at least I have to give them points for the plan.

A pessimistic thought

I Googled this and saw some fuller stories. One mentioned the use of the Sandman Intro (which I believe is non-data-capable) with this, and it hit me - is this whole thing just about compliance hours? Read it again, and see if this story doesn't permit that possibility.

By the way, the company is Covidien, not Coviden.

Maybe, it's about making more money, rather that helping much. It usually is, follow the money to the truth! jim

Are you the Lone Ranger?

Please excuse my spelling. I am suffering from memory loss, and sleepiness and other defects due to lack of oxygen to the brain. I guess it is effecting my spelling too. Leave my grammar alone. I am probably not as educated as you are.

Who is that masked man, anyway?

ThatMaskedMan,

Sandman also has a regular cpap and an auto. I have the Sandman Auto and it's a great little machine.

Even if they only want maintenance reports, we could always give them more. They did mention checking on our progress. Our definition of progress is just different than theirs.

Doesn't hurt to check it out, if it ever comes to pass. If you don't like it you don't use it. Another thing we could do would be to give them some suggestions on what it should be if they want it to be helpful to us.

It may at least be a chance to get our voice across to some of these so called professionals.

Try to think of optimistic ways we can take advantage of such a site.

Hi, I just became a part of this forum here and looking forward to helping. Great work by the admin and mods and every member around. You can really tell when people put a lot of effort into a forum and it definitely shows here! :)

I wanted to share a new great social networking site I came across a little while ago. In regards to a social network, it’s the best one I’ve found so far.

I've been using it for a little while and I've been able to make friends really easily.

I've been able to find friends and they have free chat as well so you can talk right in live chat rooms.
