Have you ever seen a leak line like this?

Post by OutaSync » Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:48 am

Notice the horizontal line running above the regular line between hours 3 and 4.

This was last night on my M Series APAP. Weird, huh?

That just don't look right unless you were using two masks during that half hour.

I would say that is an artifact of not reading the memory correctly, could be from an unformatted SmartCard. I would erase the card and run Setup on it using Encore software.

I also suspect the "lost days" some people report on the M series is due to bad memory management by the Remstars.

Most of your leak looks better than that report.

There's a theory that even leaks can have Dopplegangers.

I think the lower leak may have just met its Doppleganger.

OT for this thread, sorta, but how does one format a SmartCard? How does one run Setup on it using WHICH Encore software?

On EncorePro that she has, it is in a couple of places, under Utilities (drop down menu within on the left side) or you can have it do it automatically after it downloads your data by checking the box in System Setup from the menu bar top right.

IOW, if you don't have Encore Pro, you're outta luck? What happens if you simply put a new Smart Card in a machine, w/o "formatting" (which reminds me of the Ancient Days of Yore and formatting 5.25" SSSD floppies by the barrel....).

Not sure if EV has anything to format or erase the card.

I think the machine just beeps if the card is NOT formatted. It will work w/o the card.

There is a utility at
http://www.mycpap.org/downloads/CardUti ... taller.zip
That will help if you need to format.

Good Luck,
