new to ff mask

I just started using a ff mask and I woke up with a very dry mouth. Isn't this odd? I thought dry mouth was caused by opening your mouth while wearing a nasal mask. Shouldn't the ff mask stop dry mouth if I do open my mouth?

If you're still mouth-breathing in a full face mask, you probably will get dry mouth. Best bet is to try to train your tongue to stay up on the roof of your mouth.

I think that you will get a dry mouth when you breath with your mouth open whether or not you have a nasal mask, ff mask, or no mask. I could be wrong, but that is my experience. I also just started using a ff mask, after one year on two different nasal masks, a comfort gel and F & P flexfit. I would get an extremely dry mouth with the nasal masks and with the ff mask I still get a dry mouth, but doesn't seem nearly as bad. I'm not a mouth breather when awake...but when sleeping I guess that can happen. Good luck with your ff mask.

I sometimes get dry mouth with a ff mask, but using the mouthwash Biotene has helped a lot. It's specially formulated to help with dry mouth and can be found at most drug stores...

How is your leak rate? Whenever my leak rates go up, my mouth feels like the Sahara the next morning.
