APAP results first night

Post by Shakey Puddin » Wed Jul 06, 2005 1:59 pm

Last night was my first night on my resmed auto spirit. I previously had a remstar plus with c-flex, flow set at 12. This morning I woke up and went into the clinical menu to look at the efficacy data. These are the results:

Press: 14.2
Leak: 0.04L/s
AHI: 4.6
AI: 0.2
HI: 4.4

The machine says on time used: 7 Hours.

I use the Mirage Activa Mask.

Can someone please explian these results to me line by line. In y'alls opinion does my therapy seem to be effective?

I believe during my sleep study the doctor told me I was having 137 events / hour on average. He didn't really seem overconcerned and said to go on CPAP therapy.

Its better to burn out, than to just fade away!

AHI =Apnia Hypopnia indices. Apnias + hypopnias per hr. AFTER treatment. The ones the cpap couldn't prevent.

Leak. In litres per second. less than 1 is good depending on mask. Yours leaks look good.

AI = Apnea indices

HI=Hypopnia indices

AHI less than 5 is considered good. How do you FEEL ?
