After initial installation, it required 2 additonal adjustments in the first week.
This was probably required as the entire cap material stretched out.
I leave the upper clips attached and after the initial adjustment, have not messed
with them again.

Since then, I simply slide the cap on, clip the lower straps to my mask
and I'm set for the night. I really like that if I need to get a drink in the night,
I can just unclip the lower straps, get a drink, reclip, and all is well.

I will never go back to the neoprene headgear.
This just is too comfortable and works too well.

SleepGuy, the only suggestion I can make is keep the full tail piece.
I liked it on the orignial cap and on the demo CapII you sent.
Hi Carbonman,

Aerocare delivered my "M Series Auto CPAP Machine with C-Flex", [the "with A-Flex" version is on order and will be delivered and exchanged within a couple weeks] Oxygen Concentrator, and ResMed Swift LT Nasal Pillow System at 1400 Hrs 24Nov08.

That first night was excellent. The next night not so much. Thus far it has been an every other night good experience followed by misadventure. My experience to date is learning about the equipment, therapy, and adjusting to the devices. I had not realized how complex all this CPAP therapy is.

Adjusting to the "mask" is my biggest challenge. I am a prone/side sleeper who switches from side to side frequently. When I do this the pillows were disrupted or at least following the first night I believed that to be a problem so that I started to "adjust" the mask straps. I have had it too tight and rise in the morning after a disruptive night with a very misshaped, sore nose. I am exceedingly grateful for http://www.cpaptalk.com A cpaptalk thread informed me that the "mushroom stems" on the pillows provide a cushion for when you change position.

Tonight I have loosened the straps and will try to believe that the "mushroom stem" shock absorbers will do their job despite all my rolling around on my face.

One of my "BAD" nights was due to my not realizing that the humidifier would not last two nights without recharging. Halfway through the night I awoke with very dry mouth and nose. It is a learning process.

So far I have not had any awakening mouth open events other than experiencing opening my mouth to lick my lips and learning about the air pressure.

At present the reports are on a card that only Aerocare has the software to read and will report to my Doctor. Ultimately, I want to be knowledgeable about the reports and their meaning. At present, I likely have enough to deal with in learning about and adjusting to the equipment.

BTW Carbonman sure seems to be showing up on many of the threads. At some point if I feel that the Swift LT will not work for me, I will be reviewing some of the gear that you have been "testing" or "using".

Thanks,

Outstanding! Sounds like you DID NOT settle. Good for you.

You're right where you need to be. Good attitude!

It is a learning process. We have all been there. You're doing great.

You just need to get the Encore Viewer software and a card reader.
Your insc. will probably not pay for that. Get it! Aerocare is not in control.
YOU are! I can help you w/machine settings once you get your software.

Just ask. Always ready to pay back for all the help that got me started.

It looks like pap-cap fits a certain shape head better than others. Bike/Ski helmet makers tend do the same with some brands fitting and others made for another head shape. It takes alot of R&D to narrow down what will fit the majority of heads and maybe someday a 2nd shape cap would be offered. It would be nice to compare the cap fit with the fit of the helmet and if certain helmet brands fit so the cap most likely would fit. A trip to a store that sells helmets to double check fit before doing a mail order would lessen risk ordering something that doesnt fit.

I think the II should come with the velcro attached to the bottum straps because people would like an out of the box fit usable for the majority of masks without alterations/sewing.

The third suggestion is to offer it in the future on cpap.com so it is easy to make a claim for flexible spending like the pursleep. I am looking forward to ordering the II because of the roomy forehead material might support a de-construction of the comfortlite but need to wait for flexible spending to cover more gear.

I've been useing the PAPCAP verion 2 for a long time now and have had no issues whatsoever.

Still works great even after getting thrown in the dryer by accident.....

I am wondering though what types of nasal pillows, have people tried with it. I'm currently useing a Comfort Gel mask that seals quite well but I've been thinking of trying something different.

Thanks!

Whatever happened to the Pap Cap II? I don't see it any longer being available.
