I'm one of those that loose things if I don't put them where they belong immediately. We don't have a feature to return to a specific post later and even returning to bookmarked topics requires extra clicks. So today I had one of those "V-8 moments" where I realized all I have to do is create a FireFox Bookmark on the User Control Panel / Manage Bookmarks page and put it on the browser Bookmark Toolbar. I had been wanting something like the "View Your Posts" button and now I have it.
Extending this further, to go to a specific post as in the 27 page topic "Why Doesn't APAP Respond to Apneas?" You bookmark the tiny page icon left of the "by [poster]" and put it in a browser bookmark folder "CPAP Forum Posts". Sure beats the search when looking for a specific post.
I think IE has similar features for those not using Firefox.

OL - you always have great tips like this
I didn't even realize I had a bookmarks toolbar so I tried it... but my problem with bookmarking posts has been that the topic name never appears in the bookmark name - so when I did a drag-n-drop of the little icon onto the toolbar, the name of the web page was "New post"... same thing if i do the standard "bookmark this page".
So do you have an easy fix for the naming problem, or do you not have that problem ??

Echo,
I don't know about Firefox, but if you're using IE, you can just put your cursor over the topic name, the whole thing should be highlighted, and then you can just type in any name you want to use for that topic. Then hit "add" and you're good to go.

I right click on the little page icon and select bookmark which opens a dialogue box where I rename it to the topic name or other trigger word.echo wrote:So do you have an easy fix for the naming problem, or do you not have that problem ??
looking4zzzz, This is to bookmark an individual post, not the topic, although it works the same if you right click the title and type in the name you want if not that one.
I'm using Firefox also.

I use Firefox and have folders setup so that when I read a post that has info I want for referencing later I just slide it into the appropriate folder. I save so many that I need to clean out the folders from time to time.
Then I use the Search tool at the top of the bookmarks sidebar to search within my bookmarks. if the bookmark is special enough I take the time to type in a keyword, then all I have to do is type a keyword in the address bar and it automatically pulls up my bookmarked link.

Or in Firefox you can select the folder and "Open all in Tabs" so it puts each in it's own tab. Makes managing them much easier.

Love that and also the bookmark all tabs feature : ) Looks like we're Firefox fans : )))
