AMEN to that!~ You find out that you can help yourself feel better by just using the new machine.. GREAT! No way are we thinking of anything else at this time but to feel better.. And I am finding that like everything else in life they prey on our vulnerability to make money on us. For most it works and they screw them over. But not us! We are informed and thank you everyone for helping us to be so!~
Newbie to sleep apnea. Anxiety and panic attacks. If I can do it, you can too! It's not as bad as you think.. :)

I certainly did. I'm one of the people diagnosed in September and on a machine in October like Diver talked about. I was so insistent on going in and getting a good machine that I probably didn't do enough insurance research. I spoke with 2 people at BCBS (Empire BCBS, for what it's worth) who said the machine would be almost completely paid for because I've met the deductible and out of pocket, plus I've spoken to 3 people at the DME. No one said anything about renting to me, and my DME paperwork doesn't, either. But now I'm worried. If I have to return this one and buy one out of pocket online I will, but I suspect BCBS won't accept it unless it's purchased from an actual supplier.

I definitely would check about whether it is a rental or not. I don't remember my paperwork from the DME saying it was a rental.

I was in the same situation, met my out of pocket max and yearly deductible, so it wasn't supposed to cost me anything, and I don't think it did. But that was because I hit them buying it on Dec. 29th. It was Anthem BC/BS that told me it was required to have a 3 month rental. Good luck!
