I am running Win Vista SP1 on an Intel dual processor CPU. I have Encore Pro 1.8.49. The EncorePro installation included SQL2005 Lite. I have not installed any updates as I am afraid I might break EncorePro. I downloaded and installed Encore Pro Analyzer today (10/23/08). The installed data base name is: ENCOREPROEX. During startup, I see the message:
Cannot open database "EncorePro" requested by login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'Machine\UserID'.
I suspect the problem is with SQL 2005 or the login authentication. I have changed the SQL2005 logins to match my system login (ie. Machine\UserID)
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Encore Pro Analyzer can't access data Base
Re: Encore Pro Analyzer can't access data Base
I had a similar issue, but Encore Pro failed during install. My problem was that I already HAD a sql instance on the machine (old backup software). I removed that, and all was well. It took a lot to coax Encore Pro into installing AFTER it failed the first time, cleaning up the registry and all sorts of crap.
I'll be happy to try to help you, free of charge, but if I break something, you own all the pieces. If you want me to help, let me know and I'll walk you through setting up a free logmein acct which will allow me to remote control your machine WITH a password.

Did Encore ever work on this computer?
Have you searched to see if you can find the file C:\Windows\inf\ENCOREPROEX ??
If it did work, could it have gotten corrupted? Maybe a power interruption?
If you had another program using SQL that could be interfering and need to be uninstalled.
Search cpaptalk.com for suggestions. I know it has been discussed here before.
