To put an avatar on these boards -
You need an image picked out. Usually they are .jpg or .gif formats, I believe. This forum specifies "Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB." You'll have to figure out for yourself how to use your software to come up with the image, there are too many variables for me to explain it here.
If you want to make an avatar like the one I've got, I did mine at http://avatarmaker.abi-station.com/index_en.shtml
There are instructions at the site, just play around with it.
For getting your image onto this forum, cpaptalk gives you some choices:
"Upload Avatar from your machine" - have your image ready on your desktop or elsewhere on your PC; this option allows you to "upload" the image to the cpaptalk website
"Upload Avatar from a URL" - if your avatar exists on another website, this option allows you to copy it so that it "resides" on the cpaptalk website.
"Link to off-site Avatar"
When someone accesses a cpaptalk page with your avatar on it, their browser loads the image from a different website. So, whether your avatar shows up depends on whether that other website is up and running.
"Select Avatar from gallery"
this is not really an available option, there is nothing to choose from that I can see.
So, now that your avatar image is ready to go, sign in to cpaptalk and click on Profile at the top of the page. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and you'lll see directions for establishing your avatar.
