Do I need a FF mask?

Hello, I'm in my 2nd week of CPAP, I'm slowly getting used to having a mask pressing against my face, initial days have been hard, now I start feeling confotrable...making excperience and..... having some doubts..

My remstar auto/cflex is in AFLEX mode, the Cflex factor is 2 (medium position), the starting pressure is 7.0..

Before falling asleep, sometimes I feel I can hardly exhale through the nose, just because my nostrils get congested; after some minutes I find myself inhaling thru the nose and exhaling through the mouth..in this situation, air is often escaping through the mouth.

Moreover, specially if I lay on a side, I feel something inside my throat / nasal cavity that "closes" instead of opening... as if the positive pressure would force something to collapse, instead of doing the opposite work..

I have to say that this last thing hapens only if I "think" of it, I can provocate it or avoid it willingly, but... what happens in reality when I sleep?

My doc has not enough knowledge to tell me if there is something wrong... he does not have the software to analyze the data collected on the SmartCard... BTW, I'm looking for it, any help on purchasing Encore Pro in Italy?

In conclusion, my fear is that the ConfortGel nasal mask I'm using is not the right choice for me, just wish to know your opinion... thanks...

Can you use the internet to order things from the USA to Italy? Here is one way of buying the software and card reader on the net - at our hosts site. It could be worth searching for other sites as well.

Yes I can, though I always refrained from doing that because of the extra-charges applied by ship expenses, custom and so on ....

Anyway, thanks for advice, I've gone to cpap.com, I've seen the package advertisment, it's not that expensive, I think I will soon place the order
