Silverlining software and snoring

Post by bigheadr » Mon Jul 04, 2005 12:24 am

When I get the Silverlining software for my future 420S, will I be able to measure how much snoring that I am doing during the night?

I just checked the Silverlining demo data for the 420S, and the answer is apparently yes.

According this site, the answer is probably yes also, - but maybe you should ask them very specifically about the data you get.

And thank you for the discovery: This is another "non-auto but with software" machine" (like the Respironics Pro 2)

So for anyone who wants/needs a straight CPAP,and doesn't want, or cant afford an auto - the 420S is a possible alternative.

I was just trying to download my first weekend's worth of PB420E data to silverlining. However I ran into a problem. The cable provided has a serial male plug and my computer has a male plug. You can't be gay in the computer world.

If you are using a newer laptop, you probably don't have a serial port on the computer. You are likely trying to plug into the "video out" port.

If this is the case, you can purchase a port replicator that will plug into one of the USB ports on the computer. Then, plug the male end of the serial cable into the serial female port on the replicator.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I was going to get a female/female adapter.

Silverlining wants a COM (comunication port) or it wants to dial out via a modem. I plugged a modem cable into my computer and into my PB420E but silverlining kept trying to dial out.
