Okay, I've been using my new M-series APAP with a-flex for 5 nights. Somehow, the danged thing lost everything from Sat night.
Nothing's changing on the numbers. My AHI is 0.7 avg (and has been since the first night). My 90% avg pressure is 12.5 (initial is set to 11.5). This just doesn't sound right, especially the 0.7 AHI -- seems positively low.
apap numbers -- thoughts?

If everything is working properly -- those are great numbers!!!!!!!!!
What's the overall range on the APAP?? Sounds close to mine 11-15....my 90% is 12.2 but my AHI is 2.5 or so.....But I'm feeling pretty darn good in the morning!!!
If you are feeling good, your 90% pressure is well within the range set and your AHI is 0.7 -- dude -- thats super!!!!! Keep an eye on it.....
My rule of thumb is how do you feel??
take care
cheers

I agree with Goose - those are great numbers.
Re an AHI below 1.0 - it is easy to get caught up in trying to get to 0.0 when in fact there are other reasons beyond just an apnea where the machine will score an AI.
The population at large (worldwide) would envy your score (if they all knew what AI was )
Cheers & keep up the good progress.

Re: apap numbers -- thoughts?
Doug's correct, and brings up an excellent point -- sometimes we obsess with shooting for a number that for some of us is really unattainable. While the coveted less than AHI 1 is a great goal, we seem to lose sight that less than 5 is good/normal.
From my own personal experience, I was shooting for the less than 1 number and was adjusting my machine up and down trying to get there -- but I felt like crap (still better than before treatment, but still not good). I kept reading here that the true indication of successful treatment was how you feel, but I kept shining that on and going for the numbers......
WRONG!!!!!!
I finally had one of those light bulb moments - I don't remember the post, or who it was done by, but snoredog or RG comes to mind....I stopped shooting for a number and going for feeling.....Now I do pay attention to my AHI and other numbers, but I go by how I feel in the morning. As in my other post, my range is 11-15cm and my 90% number is 12.2. My AHI is generally around 2.5 plus or minus. As long as it's below 5, I'm happy. And I feel pretty good in the mornings these days.....
I tweaked it on Oct 1st to 10-15 (yeah, yeah.....shooting for numbers again. Guilty!!! ), but the next time I have the card out to check my data I'm going to re-set the range back to 11-15 because I just feel better there......Now. All that said, I rarely ever hit 15, rarely go as high as 14, but it does get to both.....usually the highest is 13, so that's what I feel are the numbers to be looking at.
Again, those numbers are great - keep it up!!!!! Keep an eye on the numbers, but go for the feel......
Take care
cheers

Re: apap numbers -- thoughts?
I thought 0.7 was EXTREMELY low and almost "too good to be true". Well, my sinuses are upset with me at the moment and I ended up having to toss the mask last night due to nasal clogging. I was relieved to see that my AHI rose to 0.8 avg and my pressure rose as well (as I'd expect it to). I just had this feeling that the numbers were too good and made me question their validity.
