Encore Viewer/Reader

Post by DoriC » Thu Oct 09, 2008 5:53 pm

Hope everyone is ready for me! The software was just installed and I was able to read last night's data just to get acquainted. My first question is where can I find some sort of quick guide that explains in simple terms what I'm reading. My second question is about the Leak Rate. How do I interpret what is normal or too high. The specifications in the manual for the ComfortGelFF shows an Intentional Exhaust Leak Rate for Mike's pressure as about 35?(whatever that means). His reading showed 49. What should it be? That seems to be the last obstacle to overcome. Last question, how can I post his results here so you "pros" can help me understand it. My thanks to all of you who have helped me through a very difficult time. I'm starting to feel human again, in fact I'm going to get my hair done tomorrow! First time in 6wks!

That's great!
If you go to http://www.cpap-supply.com and look at the list on the left side. Scroll down to "CPAP Articles". Click on that. There is lots of stuff there you may want to read sometime so I would bookmark it on your computer.
Scroll down and click on "Encore Viewer 1.0 Sleep Apnea Analysis Software". Click on that. Scroll down - you'll see all the pages of data you got and an explanation of what they tell you.
Clicking on each picture will enlarge it for you so you can see the examples.
They are showing 5 days of data.

The "Intentional exhaust leak rate" is what the machine can compensate for at your husband's pressure. Anything above that should be a small number. Does your leak line look fairly straight or are there lots of very high peaks? If there are lots of high peaks, the mask may not be tight enough or loose enough. I don't have experience with a Full Face mask so someone else may help.

If you go to http://www.photobucket.com (free) you can set up your pages to show them on this forum. I can do it but don't know if I can explain it at this time of night. I'm tired!

Someone else may be able to explain it for you. If no one does tonight, I will try to give you the steps tomorrow.

Have a good time getting your hair done tomorrow!

The LAST thing you want to do is trust cpap-supply.com and the amateurs that run it. LOL. Please.

Hello and welcome to this great place!
I'm glad to see that you're feeling "human" again! Nice !
I know that a member going by the name of "RiverDave" had made an excellent chart on Intentional Exhaust Leak Rate , of the FF mask.
You could PM him. He sent it to me already some time ago for my trype of nasal mask.
God luck to you!
D.

Don't have the Viewer program, have the Pro version, but with it you can select Help from the menu and it explains what everything means on the report.

Thanks Snoredog, I've been clicking around on Help and found a lot of info. Boy, my reading glasses are getting a workout. I'm really feeling so much more in control of the situation now, not nearly as anxious. As someone here said, not having software is like driving a car on the highway without a speedometer. We could not have come this far without all of you, Hubby Mike thanks you too, even though he finds me on the computer a lot now.
