Respironics customer service is USELESS
Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
you think I know?
all I do is get invited to flirt at the truck stop by the Centralia Outlet Mall - I think I need a step up from that to make an appearance -
I prefer a private shower myself - banned got invited to go to that motel with vibrating beds in Bremerton at least but I got to bring my own truck and head towards centralia
So for all I know she might have 100 left feet - a regular centipede

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
After reading this forum for about 3 1/2 years, I've come to the conclusion that far too many people don't put nearly enough research (or thought) into their mask selection. I'm still using the same mask I started with and it works great for me. After about a year and a half, I got curious about the Comfortfull 2 and bought one......since it was like the mask I did my sleep study with (probably the original Comfortfull)......and it was HORRIBLE. I barely managed to get three nights out of it (very painful on my chin and leaked badly). My next trial was with the Quattro and it works pretty well.....but I like the UMFF better.
Do your homework.....lots of it.....before you buy! (unless you have LOTS of money to experiment with different ones)

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
Thank you Marsha and Babette.
OK...as I've never done this before and I hope it's OK to do ask for trades on this forum, please bear with me.
I have a size SMALL ComfortFull Face Mask with Headgear that I just purchased on October $150.95 and it arrived on October 8th. Tried, but failed to wear it one full night.
Is there anyone out there who would be willing to trade for a New or lightly used MEDIUM Full face or Nasal with Headgear??? Or we could keep our own headgear and trade the mask only?
BJ

I am definitely not buying rings for all those fingers - one would be more than enough with the current economy - unless I can find a bargain on someone needing to liquidate their rings to buy groceries.

Imagine just how many masks she has too. Can you say HI-Maint.?

I must say that I believe carbonman has, once again, chosen the perfect attitude in this given set of circumstances!RiverDave wrote:Carbonman,

Have I said lately how much I love your tag line, carbonman?
Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
BJ, it's fine to trade SA-related items on the forum. Since there are a LOT of people who won't read through all four pages of this thread, many will miss your offer. It would work much better for you to start a new thread offering the trade. To do that, just select the orange "Post A New Topic" near the top of the home page; make your subject line very specific (I have ***; would like to trade for ***); and put any other details in the body (for instance, a great selling point is if the equipment is in a smoke-free &/or pet-free home), as well as a request for anyone who's interested to send you a PM. And if I'm wrong and somebody responds to your note in this thread, I'll gladly eat my words.

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
This one needs to be chalked up to experience...
Sell it on cpapauction.com and be done with it....you obviously don't understand how the business works.
The manufacturer couldn't care less about you (as you've been told adnauseum) - deal with it. You think they care if you used their sizing guide to choose?? Nope. You're not their customer, why should they care about you??
Now. If you had gone to a reputable DME -- yeah I know they're sometimes hard to find -- you'd be covered by the 30 day policy. But you decided to be el cheapo, so you get what you got.......
Again -- deal with it!!!
Babs is sooooo right!!!!
I had to stop reading the thread at page 2......people were telling you and you weren't listening -- You're a perfect example of "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up"..........
Sheesh.....

Thank you Marsha. Since I'm new at this, I truly appreciate your help AND suggestions.
Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
I know, and have said, that they don't OWE me anything. It was the "we don't talk to patients" part that bothered me the most.goose wrote: I had to stop reading the thread at page 2......people were telling you and you weren't listening -- You're a perfect example of "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up"..........
And of course I don't want to be confused with the facts. You're dealing with a guy that will laugh just at hard at myself as I'll laugh at anyone else.
I paid $50 for a mask that Respironics somehow feels justified in marketing at the MAP price of $169. If you've ever had the pleasure of using one of these masks, you'll know that $50 was a rip-off . The way the mask connects to the headgear, in and of itself, is just horrible. Resmed has the nice little clicky-clips that are easy-on and easy-off.
Of the three masks I've used thus far, I like Resmed's method of connecting to the headgear the best (Ultra Mirage II). I like the headgear of the Universal Hybrid better though. The ComfortFull 2's method of connecting to the mask is odd and hard to just "feel" to put on/take off.
While you feel I should just "suck it up and move on", which I've already done -- not mutually-exclusive with "complaining about it" , I feel I did what I could do as a consumer to resolve the issue. I went to the mfg and gave them an opportunity to assist if they chose to. I can't even fault them for saying "no, we won't replace the mask". I fault them for "we don't deal with patients" stance. I came here to complain about that stance. It's a sucky "customer service model" and I wanted to share my frustrations. Not only have I shared MY frustrations, I've obviously given some of you the opportunity to get frustrated at me .
I hope others have better luck and maybe someone learned something from my post (other than that I want everything MY way).

bjplaster wrote:So basically I was up the creek since I could not afford to buy another one at $150!!! I tried it again last night and it woke me up 4 times with major "moisture in my mask" sorry, can't remember what it's called. I really don't think I can live with this type of issues for the next 6-9 months (average length of mask).
cpap.com's preferred pricing is $99, so if you got it from them, I'm not sure where the $150 number is from. Bestcpapprice.com's preferred pricing is $77 for this mask.
Because of the post I made here, some folks made me aware of the Respironics "satisfaction warranty" on certain masks. I contacted bestcpapprice.com and asked if they would allow a return in such an instance. The response I got said that they WOULD honor it for ONE mask only (and only on the optilife or comfortfull series per Respironics warranty). I was satisfied with that, and I've learned a whole new question to ask when dealing with a DME .
Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
I'm not sure why I didn't see the preferred price of $99, but the cheapest one I could find was $139 plus Shipping, which took it to $150. I only wish I had known about cpaptalk.com sooner (or had participated) ... I would have learned quite a bit.
Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
CPAP.COM (and others) doesn't charge for shipping on orders over $100......so, if you were to order something else to take it over that (like some filters or hose), you won't be charged extra shipping.bjplaster wrote:I'm not sure why I didn't see the preferred price of $99, but the cheapest one I could find was $139 plus Shipping, which took it to $150.
