So, hubby and I just got Whisper Caps for our APAPs and I haven't been able to find a place to put the Pursleep samples that works. I've tried putting it above and below...thought about taping it to the side of the Whisper Cap, but not sure that would be a good idea.
I got the samples just before the Whisper Caps came and I really like the vanilla! Waaaaaaaaa!
If you're using both things, how did you solve the problem? Thanks!

Re: Using Pursleep with a Whisper Cap
If you're both on the machine, why bother with the Whisper Caps? Your personal perception of the noise from YOUR machine is going to be far higher than what you can hear of your PARTNER'S machine.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: Using Pursleep with a Whisper Cap
My hubby swears it has made a difference for him and I can't really argue with him since it's a subjective thing. It also helped when I went out of town this past weekend and stayed with friends. But that's a short term thing and I did without the Pursleep. Maybe I'll take it off and see if he notices....

Re: Using Pursleep with a Whisper Cap
Look, I know Bret won't approve this advice, but you might contemplate it - why not put a drop (just one, not your usual dose that you put on your pad) on your grey washable filter, then put the whisper cap on?
Cheers,
B.

YIKE--I'm going to take the liberty of pasting Bret's (manufacturer of Pur~Sleep) comments on this. He says NO, don't do this:Babette wrote:Look, I know Bret won't approve this advice, but you might contemplate it - why not put a drop (just one, not your usual dose that you put on your pad) on your grey washable filter, then put the whisper cap on?

Is there a reason not to just put a drop on the paper filter pad instead of using an external pad?
A few reasons: Air filter material typically contains one or more synthetic fibers. Aromatics in liquid form (especially essential oils) tend to have a solvent effect in physical contact with plastics, paint, varnish, etc. As a result, most manufacturers recommend against placing any aromatic substance in contact with equipment (and doing so may void warranties). This also may release things you don't want to be breathing. Also, diffusion rates will vary widely from material to material.
External pads are made from inert materials designed for the diffusion of aromatics at an optimum rate for the application. While looks may be somewhat deceiving, there's quite a bit of R&D behind the products. .[/quote]

Re: Using Pursleep with a Whisper Cap
I have yet to try the Whisper Cap (but it sounds like I need to get one) but this should not be overly difficult. The area near the air intake on the Whisper Cap will provide a localized negative pressure zone. While it's in an inconvenient location, it's still going to be the same as any equipment. To experiment, turn on your machine, get your hand wet, and feel where the air is being drawn in through the Whisper Cap.CorgiGirl wrote:So, hubby and I just got Whisper Caps for our APAPs and I haven't been able to find a place to put the Pursleep samples that works. Once you know that, set up the pad so it's just below (or maybe in the middle of) the negative pressure zone. You'lll probably have to arrange some books, boxes, or something equivalent to get the pad that close. Be careful not to block the air intake (of course).
Someone else asked about this a few months ago and (I understand) got it working just fine.
So let us know when you get it figured out. It will help keep our minds off the stock market.
