Its clear enough that you have no real understanding of inverter technology, or indeed electrical power techology, at all, so this has become quiet pointless!

Thanks for all the responses At one time, I used to be able to speak 'Geek' about electronics, inverters, daisy chaining and types of battery cells.

Like many of us, my cognitive abilities have changed. After reading many past postings on this topic, I found the B $ W Electromate 400 to be the easiest and most functional solution.

On AC it will run for one night, low pressure with humidifier set to 1. On DC , possibly a few nights.

I plug it in to charge. And then, I plug in the BiPap. Doesn't get easier than that! Easily available at Walmart or Home Depot for 100 bucks.

For a power outage, maybe occur once a year, and a camping trip or two, it's there.

So, instead of having a battery(s) sitting around the house, the Electromate 400 will fill tires and jump start a car. Why buy something specifically for the xPap when it could have multiple uses.

I can understand needing portable batteries for flying and traveling. For $500 bucks, which is what I would pay, how long will it last?

I'm seeing this topic reoccur frequently. I think it's extremely important to be prepared. I feel more secure knowing the solution is solved.

Thanks SG

Supergeeky,

It doesn't sound like you have a problem with your cognitive ablilities. You identified the problem, identified a possible solution, researched the viability of solution, and put together an action plan.

Sometimes we get so bogged down in the details we can't see "the forest from the trees". You have a good point - you may be up, in the dark, half asleep trying to get you CPAP working again. I agree - KISS.

Thanks Pineapple!! I really, really appreciate that!!

This web site is so powerful and so key to my recovery! It's very important to me, to give back in some way or another...

I can't stand people suffering needlessly...

And, 'KISS" reaches a broader audience. Ain't it the truth!

Geeky....

I think your battery-back-up choice is a good one. Your posts about this matter were helpful.......and not aggressive. You have my respect.
