I received by CPAP 12 days ago. I was started at 10cm H20 pressure with a 20 minute ramp starting a 4.5 cm H20. I've slowing increased the beginning ramp pressure up to 7.5. About night 8 or 9 a began waking ing the middle of the night feeling like my airway was closing up again. Called the doctor and yesterday she had my pressure increased to 12 cm H20. Last night was wonderful - no closing of the airway at all. But am I constantly going to be needing to increase, or will there be a point that all will be good? The doctor said that while I was being titrated, my hypopneas ceased at only 6 cm but I was still having apneas until I hit 10 cm. In other words, I was snoring r e a l l y l o u d !

Increased pressure

When I first got my CPAP with my nose mask they started mine at 7cm. Like others on this board will tell you, though, the titration only provided a brief snapshot of OSA events that my body was pulling off. My wife told me I was still making a slight snoring sound so I went back to the DME and they bumped me up to 9cm and that fixed the problem. Later on when I switched to a nose and mouth mask, I had to have the pressure bumped up again to 11cm but since that time it's been easy livin' and that's going on one year now. So you do find the magic number eventually it just takes a couple of tweaks.
Hope this helps answer your question.
