cpaptalk.com Recent Bug Fixes, Upgrades, Happenings

Post by forumadmin » Tue Jun 28, 2005 9:37 am

Howdy,

Edit Equipment In Profile

We noticed users posting what CPAP rigs they have to their profile and thought we should let people take that further. You can click "Profile", add your equipment, and it'll show up in the bottom of your posts.

"Guested" Bug Fixed

Theo, of cpap.com About Us section fame, (https://www.cpap.com/aboutUsPerson.php?AboutUsID=14), has fixed the bug that kept "Guesting" cpaptalk users. I log into forumadmin and johnnygoodman a lot and the last few days have been much better. Enjoy!

cpaptalk.com Unexpected Download

We were down from 11:15 until 11:26 AM CST 6/28/2005. We patch our software regularly in order to keep this website as secure and up to date as possible. Our most recent patch conflicted with older files that needed updating and caused an error to be displayed. We've fixed it, patched it and are back up and running the newest version.

CPAP Video Section

Click the icon for a library of videos covering a large range of CPAP topics. You can also request a free copy of the cpaptalk.com Introduction To The Sleeplab DVD. It will walk a patient who is about to go in for their sleep study through the basics. Thanks to those who have already requested their video and put it in their doctors hands. If you haven't yet, please do! It'll grow this community and help a lot of new users out.

Ask Question

If you would prefer to have your question answered by a cpap.com CPAP Expert, this is the place to ask. Quick, easy and free.

We hope you like these upgrades. Thanks for your support!

Johnny

Johnny, this is excellent, except that neither my CPAP nor mask seem to be listed in the drop down boxes. I have a Respironics Solo LX CPAP & ResMed Mirage Full Face Mask (vs. the "Ultra" Mirage).

Is my equipment just too old to be listed (thankfully, CPAP.com does still carry filters, etc.), or did I miss something?

Thanks for the other upgrades, too, and for keeping CPAPTalk one of the best forums on the 'net.

Greetings,

We pull these images and the each list from the cpap.com database of products. We no longer vend the Solo due to lack of market demand so that is not included in the list.

The original Mirage is included in the list as "Mirage Mask with Headgear". I've added it to my profile, so you can view it at the bottom of my post

A recent CPAP Newsletter of ours announced that Resmed was to Discontinue Original Mirage Mask Production.

With that said, I agree that cpaptalk needs to look into including legacy equipment in the list to get a true feeling of what people are using.

Thanks for making use of our features! It's great to see them in action.

Johnny

I don't like the way you have edited the Equipment in Profile because I am not going to take the time to click on each one in order to recognize it.

I prefer the way individuals listed their equipment, masks, etc. previously in a word format. Now if you can make that easier for posters, then that would be great.

I agree. If doing a mouse-over revealed the brand/model name, I'd do that. But click it to go to a product page which might or might not really match the exact equipment that person uses...nah.

There's been posts lately that indicate the people (we the people) don't really like the picture boxes - can't really see them anyway, they're distracting and take up message space, requiring more clicking when reading a page... some of those who tried them, have now turned off the feature and have received thanks from others for doing that! Could it be just text description of items used, that could be put in with the signature line? You could link the text to a GOOD picture of the machine or mask or whatever.

Great forum though guys, easy, lots of features. Thanks for creating this space for us hoseheads!

You ought to be sending bennies to RG - there was a whole thread honoring her lately, she's your big content provider, the heart of the forum

Howdy,

I am back from a short vacation in WI. I will be reading through "My Equipment" feedback tomorrow evening and making changes to the system based off that feedback early next week.

It is hard to get things "just right" the first time. Allowing users to display their rigs is a good idea and we will continue to work on a convenient, easily displayed way of including this information on posts.

momexp5, thanks for posting your feedback to the feature announce thread. Most likely we'll try out a text based "My Equipment" feature. I have not seen you around yet, so welcome if you are new, or hello if we haven't yet met but you've been around.
