Adjusting Air Pressure - Respironics SoloPlus
I am new to the forum, glad to see I'm not alone - I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 4 years ago, and am still using the above machine (it was in storage for awhile and is almost new, I used a ZZZZ=Pap as I travel a lot in the Foreign Service)
I have two questions - 1) I have noticed after using the Ramp feature on te SoloPlus, the air increases dramatically after an hr or so (led says 15:000) I feel this is too strong as I somtimes take the mask off in my sleep..is there anyway to adjust the air pressure - we have no sleep therapists here in Luanda Angola to take it too, and the Manual has no instruction to do this, just low & high altitude adjustments.
2) I am being assigned to Baghdad, Iraq - its dry there, what machine should I buy to help with humidification - and are there any pros or cons concerning Aroma Therapy.
I am 56year old male, 5' 6" not too overweight so what would be an optimum setting for the SoloPlus for me???
Thanx

Re: Adjusting Air Pressure - Respironics SoloPlus
that is the old Solo LX system:
Here are the instructions for changing the pressure on your Solo or Solo LX CPAP.
First, with the machine plugged into a wall outlet, unplug the cord from the back of the CPAP. Now, press and hold the Pressure On/Off button (the round button on the left) and the Ramp button (the oblong button on the right) down at the same time while plugging the cord into the back of the CPAP.
The pressure setting will display. To change the pressure, press the Ramp button and the pressure will increase 1cm of water pressure each time you press the button.
When you stop pressing the Ramp button, the signal light will flash one time for each cm of pressure to correspond with the new pressure setting. If you wish to verify the setting again, press the Pressure On/Off button. The signal light will again flash one time for each cm of pressure.
To exit and save changes press and hold the On/Off button while pressing the Ramp button once. The machine should quit blowing and the green light should light up.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Hi,
Are there different instructions for adjusting the pressure on the Respironics Solo Plus (not the LX)? I have tried the instructions you gave, but it's not working.
Thanks,
Donna

Hello: Thanks for your instructions! At first I thought they didnt work, but with a little persistance I am up to the prescribed pressure and all is well!
Re: Adjusting Air Pressure - Respironics SoloPlus
The instructions worked great. I really appreciate your posting them. My setting is low because of loss of oxygen so this helped tremendously to get my cpap set up.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

That's great - but how do you turn the pressure down?
Re: Adjusting Air Pressure - Respironics SoloPlus
Figured it out...just keep hitting the ramp butto n until it goes past it's highest setting. One more ramp push will bring you down to the lowest setting - you can work your wa6 up from there.lecrack wrote:That's great - but how do you turn the pressure down?

Thanks for posting this info. I was using an auto c-pap and it malfunctioned. I had saved this unit but it was not giving enough pressure. Any ideas about having the auto-pap fixed without going through the seller? That procedure seems a bit crooked to me.

Start by going to this site and contacting them to see what they recommend http://www.acbio.com . They're also a member of this forum under the user name "Accurate". They do excellent work. A number of us forum members have used them for various things so that's why we recommend them.Kelsey wrote:Thanks for posting this info. I was using an auto c-pap and it malfunctioned.
