Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Breeze!

Post by qrlylox » Sun Jun 26, 2005 10:47 am

In my quest to find just the right mask, by george I think I've got it!
Tried ComfortCurve small (didnt work), Comfortcurve petite (okay but wakes me up quite a bit), Infinity (bad idea for me), and finally bit the bullet and antied up and bought an Activa (which I liked), and a Breeze, which I tried last night for the first time.
All I can say is Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! The Breeze is it!

HURRAH for qrlylox!!!!

Glad you finally found something you really like - although one night is certainly not a full test. Give it a week. But I know what you mean. Thet's the way I felt about my Flexi 407 the first time I tried it: smooth, silent, comfy....Mmmmm... must be nap time!!!

Sweet dreams!

I know what you mean about the Breeze. I absolutely love it. I've used it for 8 months now and it just gets better!!!! Hope it does the same for you.

Congrats Qrlylox!!

I too have been using the Breeze for over 2 weeks now. I started with the medium pillows and had some leaking. Someone, I think it might have been Rested Gal, suggested that I try the large size even though I am a woman and do not have a large nose or nares! So I did and they are perfect! I use the Ayr gel so no more nose soreness, and no more leaking. I even tried sleeping on my stomach the other night. I am excited that this whole Cpap process has been so easy. It helps, of course, that I am on a low pressure of 5 cm!

I did have some RLS during the titration study after i got up to use the restroom, but apparently I also had some PLM's while I was asleep which kept waking me up. I have had the RLS for about 30 years and had no clue about the PLMD since I sleep alone The doc ordered some Mirapex which I started 2 nights ago. He had me at 0.5 mg and I woke up feeling horrible. After some searching online, I cut the dose to 0.125 mg last night and slept even better! I am so encouraged! And I am glad you are too.

Hi 4Katie - for me it was that it sealed easily with no leaks, and also I can lay on either side with my face against pillow normally, and it doesn't shift.
Also - the somewhat claustrophobic feeling a mask can cause does not exist with nasal pillows. Also, no pinching, sucking, pushing or hurting as masks can do! I was getting a bit embarrassed going to work every day with red marks all over my face.
But as JB said, one night may not be enough of a trial to be sure... but for me, the Breeze felt kinda like when you're shopping for furniture, and you sit in 20 chairs, then finally hit that one that you just KNOW is it!

Thanks, qrlylox. I'm getting one myself, cuz I sleep on my side(s). Can't wait to try it out!

Where are you from in PA? I grew up in Bucks County.

Hi 4Katie - we live in Lancaster county - not too far from Bucks! Beautiful country - but not as beautiful as Northern VA!

Bucks County, PA and Northern Virginia...absolutely beautiful country! I used to go up to dogs shows that-a-way...always enjoyed the drive and loved both areas.

The Breeze with nasal pillows is one of my longtime favorites. Soooo easy to put on and take off, and so nice for side sleeping. Not so great for people who sleep on their back most of the time, imho.

4Katie, if you get one and have any problems with it all, be sure to post about it. There are a lot of simple fixes for most things with the Breeze.

Yeah, I'm a Breeze guy - when I brought the diagnostic APAP in for the results to be read, the Resp Tech shook his head in amazement...

"No leaks during the entire month. There's a first..."

It's just a very light, comfortable mask - it's great....
