Hi
Thinking aloud here, but ideas welcome.
Before therapy I was always dreaming I was swimming underwater, about to be swamped by water etc.
Sometimes I still dream that I see a huge wave coming and hold my breath as it crashes over me, often waking gasping. That happened last night and was quite frightening. I can see the wave coming for a fair while before I have to hold my breath. Also I woke with a headache.
Last night
AI 0.3, AHI 3.3
longest apnoea last night was 17, long for me. Usually they're no more than 15 secs.
Looking at my stats, my therapy is working well. Over the last two weeks (I had a cold before that) my stats were:
Last two weeks
AI 0.2. AHI 3.5
I'm currently set at 11.8 -12-8 autoset and using the Swift2. I'm sticking my lips with denture cream, and my leak rate went up during the long apnoea from 3.6 to 4.8
The nights are still cold here in Australia, I do tend to bury my head under the bedclothes in my sleep. I don't think the vents get blocked, but there might be a bit of a fug under the bedclothes. (FUG, I said, FUG)
Maybe that's the problem, but I don't see why that would be a problem because the air inlet to the hose and mask are outside in the fresh air (we have the window open).
Maybe it's just the dreams that make me do it?
Also I get asthma, and thinking about it, it's fairly asymptomatic, in that the doc usually notices it before I do. I tend to forget about it now that I'm on the cpap. Maybe I should start monitoring it, and taking my puffer at bedtime.
Ideas?
Thanks
Di
