Hi everyone, I also have GERD, and get a bloated tum of varying degrees plus some acid reflux damage. For GERD the Dr. had me on ran=-rabeprazole 20mg tabs - one daily. After a couple of prescriptions I stopped taking them and am so glad I did as within perhaps a week I stopped feeling wound up and at times unable to cope - dummy me didn't suspect the pills and who know maybe it wasn't. I can't say that I noticed if my bloating is any better or worse either before or after the tablets.
I have raised the head of the bed by 6 inches, that helped with the 'lying down burps', as does not eating late which seems to cause me to overeat,. It takes too long for the stop eating your full message to come thru!

I have had good luck with aerophagia since I started taking a complete digestive enzyme complex. This has enzymes to digest various fiber, milk, meat, etc. The one I take is NOW foods Plant Enzymes. I take one at the beginning of each meal. This has helped considerably. I think that this is because I did have gas during the day, too, but I didn't notice it since it did not "accumulate." When I use the enzymes I don't seem to get it. I tried going off them for a few days and it was back. This may not work for everyone, but it's worth a try since the enzymes are relatively cheap. I get them online from iherb.com.
