My new Respironics M series APAP w/ c flex

Post by REMemberWhen » Tue Aug 19, 2008 4:42 pm

I just exchanged my M series Pro CPAP for the auto this morning. My pressure on the CPAP was set at 15, lowered from the origional 18 that I was titrated at. I plan on setting the min. at 8 and the max. at 16(does this sound correct?). I was wondering, since I don't have the software yet, just the smart card, if I could find out what my optimum pressure is using just my LCD screen. Also, is there anything else I should know or take into consideration switching from the constant pressure machine to the auto?

Hello REM,

Based on my experience, if you need a pressure of 15 to prevent your apneas, it will take much too long for the machine to move from minimum 8 to the needed 15. You will experience apnea city tonight.

I am not a fan of autos so I will let someone else advise you on a pressure range to try.

BTW, the software is highly recommended if you want to control your therapy.

Good luck,
Rooster

If you need 15 to stop apneas, I would set the lower # to 14 for starters. The top number is fine for now.
