Needy? I think not if your presence on this forum is to judge. I assume you've already tried to alter the pressure to be more evenly distributed?froggie66 wrote:Well...and then there are people like me who absolutely cannot tolerate the adhesive even on a plain old bandaid! I have to use hypoallergenic bandaids!!! (very hard to find!!!) The tape on the EKG sensor that the sleep study techs put on my neck caused my skin under the tape to completely blister and become the most horribly itchy, nasty looking sore square on my neck. It took 3 weeks for it to completely to disappear, too. I looked like I had a hickey for weeks!!!! UGH!!
Soooo....if anyone has any suggestions for someone like me, too, I'd really appreciate it!!!! And....unfortunately, I seem to be a drooler....EWWWWWW!!!! It makes the tape come unglued when that happens!!! For some reason, in my Liberty mask, I do not have any problem with drooling at all. It just doesn't happen!
Bummer...now a week and a half into the Liberty and I am developing a pressure sore on my upper lip!!!! WAAAAA!!!! I LOVE my Liberty and I REALLY want to be able to use it every night!!!!!! Any suggestions on this, too??!!
I am so needy...I apologize!!!

KMP50 wrote:I have one and it does take some getting used to, because the CPAP manufacturers have been making things sized for big men for years and don't seem to notice that a lot of humans- even some men, I presume - have noses, chins and faces smaller than the "average" man....
Yeah, I'm mad. My nose gets all stretched out by the Swift pillows at night, but the other masks are too big to get a good seal. I'm working on it with my DME though. There's always hope....
I use the OptiLife nasal pillows, the petite size. You might want to try it. It's great for side sleepers. Supposedly, another manufacturer provides petite nasal pillows but I don't know which one it is. Good luck!

Re: Cpap and women
Women on cpap,
Let's see........I know I am "small nosed" 5 ft 1 inch women with a heavy frame who's got sleep apeona, I am not over 40 years, I am just over 30 yrs old and very young to get it as I was diagnosed when I was 18 yrs old!!!! Plus the clogged up sinuses do not help tilt the scales to my favour.
I am sporty type, but that didn't help me at all.....I found I had it when I nearly got myself killed crossing the street as I had a sudden sleep attack and was gonna flop down in the middle of the street! They had bump me from few mths wait to emergency action, as after I realised what had happen, I went to gp and demanded somthing to be done right away as they may not be a next time for me as this sleep attack nearly killed me! As my friend was there to help me, if not I would been killed.
So they had me done straight away as my was a classic emergency case....life or death. Now after a few years on cpap I am back to my normal self.I am telling people this, so they can get something done before some life threating incident occurs......Today I live to tell the tale. As I was lucky, As I knew if didn't get something done straight away I would not be here to tell the tale.
So to those who suffering from sudden sleep attacks from sleep apeona in the day do try to get somthing done straight away as they may not be a next time if the attack occurs whist doing some that rely life or death judgment ie: crossing the street or driving a car.

My wife and my 8 year old daughter have sleep apnea. Both have a little extra weight (but not fat). No long thin necks in the fam, however.

Re: Cpap and women
About the Micropore Hypoallergenic Surgical tape - After reading about it here, I searched online and found some on ebay.ca (I'm in Canada). I found a box of 12 rolls, each roll in a dispenser. The whole box costs $5.24 US dollars and it shipped here for $6.99 US. Total -$12.23 for all 12.
They came a few days ago and I have been using the tape and really like It!
Thought someone might be interested in that. Ebay.com probably has the same deal - maybe cheaper shipping.

Re: Cpap and women
Thanks for the update on the Hypoallergenic MicroPore tape!! Since I am allergic to even plain ol' Band-Aids, the hypoallergenic tape is important! Now...the next thing I need is hypoallergenic Band-Aids!! But it would be really nice if my local pharmacy sold them instead of me having to order them online!!
Oh...you should have seen my skin on my neck after my last sleep study and they taped the "snore microphone" on my neck! Even after warnings about my allergic reactions, they still used a tape that I am allergic to!!!! I think I'll bring my own hypoallergenic tape with me the next time I need a sleep study (hopefully it will be a long while before I need another one of those).

Re: Cpap and women
Again, I am in Canada but I can buy hypoallergenic bandaids (in all shapes and sizes) at my local Pharmacy. I have to have a lot of blood work done because of some drugs I am on and I always carry my own hypoallergenic bandaids when I go to the lab.
