Since I live near a store with high quality essential oils, I just made my own little pad and bought my own fragrances. I mostly use lavendar as it is a well known aromatherapy treatment for helping you to have restful sleep (as well as headache reduction). I seriously was going to buy the pur sleep product for ease of use but this turned out to be just as easy. Not cheaper though. The cost of high quality essential oils can vary and I chose to get a very high grade of French Lavendar oil (there is both French and English and they vary).
This sounds interesting, but I have one question. Will my husband be able to smell it? He doesn't even like air fresheners in the bathroom, etc!
It is unlikely that it will bother him even if he does smell it. You only need a tiny drop, maybe two. In aromatherapy, the stronger effect is related to smaller doses of the smell. You may not even notice it much even with the pad placed near the air intake of your cpap. See if sleepguy is willing to let you return for partial payment anything unused and if so, I would go for it. Aromatherapy is really great and as I said, I would have bought from him except I have this awesome store less than a mile from me (sleepguy - maybe you should see about getting your stuff carried there?)
Just a little paper sample in a 42 cent envelope and I could decide which one to buy next...worth thinking about!
Sleepguy will answer this, I am sure, but my understanding of aromatherapy oils is that the scent doesn't linger very long. If he sent you that teeny bit of paper, it would arrive scentless unless he used about 20 or more drops - in which case that is much more than a sample with the pricing for most essential oils. That is 20 nights worth! The very reason they aren't horrible air freshener types of smells is also why they don't last long on a piece of paper. They are not synthetic fragrences, but are essential oils. Once it dries up, bye bye smell.
