Frustrated

Well I called my MD and told him I couldn't sleep very good with the mask I have which is a comfortflex because it puts presssure and made a bruise on the bridge of my nose and if I loosen it it leaks all night.Also my nose and throat are so dry that it wakes me up when I do go to sleep. He says no problem I will fax an RX to the DME for a Activa mask and a humidifier. I said great. WEll the DME called and said the humidifier is no problem but the mask might be. She said the insurance pays for a mask every 6 months and she needs medical justification.I am getting pressure spots and leaks what more do they want? If I can't wear it what good does it do me? I have double insurance and they both pay 100% of DME so I don't see the problem. I am frustrated.I think cpap is really going to help me. I have had the mask on every night since I got it but if Ican't get the right equipment what good is it?

For the bruise, use Flexfoam 1" tape made by 3M. You can use the same tape for about 1 week.

My sleep doc said if my mouth was dry, I was getting excessive leaking or not enough warm air. This occured after I switched from the heated hose to the regular hose so I went back to the heated hose at a lower humidity setting for summer.
