early days 3

Ok to reply to an earlier question my compliance at the beginning was 58% and my best compliance to date is 75%

but the good news about that is we have got the pressure down form 21 to 16. The change in pressure does not improve compliance but it reduces the amount of disturbed sleep I get. In other words I can sleep longer than 2 hours at a time:) usually 4-6 if i am lucky

I get nightmares that to me are so real I sometimes cant work out which bit was real, I hallucinate, I yell out in all sorts of languages. I get cramps so bad in my extremities ( i am told that that is caused by the brain making my heart go faster and sucking up the extra oxygen and my extremities losing out)

I have bad depressive states and the only way to get things done sometimes is to tunnel vision what i have to do and totally ignore everything else to get it done.

How did all this start. Well from the age of about 8 I was always difercult to wake, had periods of collapse and lots of other symtoms. But in those days sleep apnea wasn't even a word. I was treated for epilespy for years even though eeg's showed nothing except unusual alpha waves.

So in 1982 I was in a RTA. (road trafic accident) The bus I was on hit a lamppost and I went through a window. After I hit the Ground the bus toppled and landed on top of me. I went through another window back into the bus and the window frame hit my left side arm shoulder spine and leg.

How did i survive this~(this will make you laugh i hope) I was asleep. Two minutes after getting on the bus I was out of it and it was going through the window that woke me but my muscles were relaxed from sleeping and i didn't tense up when the bus landed...

They were going to do a spine op on me when i had recovered enough from the RTA and when I was given the anestectic b4 the op I stopped breathing and so when i awoke i was in a different hospital having had no op done and masks and pipes wondering what was happening:)

more soon:)
