I promised BF I'd take him to see Quantum of Solace. Those movies usually bore me ANYWAY, but I hear this one is particularly dullsville. Maybe I'll just bring my cpap machine along and nap....

LOL,

Just saw a prescreening of Australia, http://www.australiamovie.com/

Excellent!

"Wrong side business." Cute terminology. But I have never complained about any side I could get.

OMG!!!
How could I have ever forgotten?

Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictator"

With Chaplin in the role of Adenoid Hynkel, and others in the roles of Field Marshal Herring and of General (?) Garbitsche.

It's from 1940.

And I promise you you haven't laughed your fill till you watch the airplane scene - listen very carefully to the dialogue!!!

New ones

Quantum of Solace. New Bond movie that was not at all enjoyable for me. This was a sequel to Casino Royale, which friends told me they liked. Since I sat unhappily through Quantum of Solace, I told my wife let's borrow the Casino Royale dvd. We enjoyed it very much.

Last night I saw a prescreening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, http://www.benjaminbutton.com/?gclid=CP ... nAodQHcgDw , which will be released Christmas day. When I arrived at the theater I was told the movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes. I had a long day, and of course I have osa, so I became concerned about being able to stay awake. But this turned out not to be a problem because the movie was so interesting that I stayed focused on it. If you want to see a warm happy/sad movie which both sexes liked, don't miss this unusual, great movie while you have some time off at Christmas.

New ones

Quantum of Solace: one of the worst Bond movies ever.... I did drool over Daniel Craig and liked Casino Royale (I think I've seen every Bond film) but it was non-stop action without the sly humor. It's like it was trying to be one of the Bourne movies crossed with Bond, but didn't make it as either.

Changeling: Interesting, a chick flick and enjoyable though sad.

Australia: beautiful scenery (both land & people); original and sequel all rolled together -- it's amazing how much can be packed into 2 hours and 35 minutes. It was entertaining and enjoyable.

Mindy

Here is one you should not miss. Valykrie, http://valkyrie.unitedartists.com/ , with Tom Cruise to be released December 25. I saw a prescreening tonight and it is excellent! (The men in our group liked it more than the women.)

A Boy and His Dog ------ A real classic ! Look it up.

Best line is at the end - Line by telepathic dog named BLOOD: Well, I'd certainly say she had marvelous judgment, Albert, if not particularly good taste.

You have to see it to get how funny that line is...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072730/

I can't believe it but someone already mentioned

Bubba Ho-Tep - Absolutely freaking hilarious

http://www.bubbahotep.com/

Patrick Swayze ?????????????????????? Whatever.......
MrSandman - Send me a dream...

Hey, I wanted a cool name related to sleep...

"The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins playing a Kiwi, trying to race a 40-yr old Indian at the Utah salt flats. Brilliant (and apparently true) movie!! Just caught it on TV tonight. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412080/
