My HC220LE doesn't have a dial for adjusting humidity, so these steps you've described here won't help me unlock my CPAP. Any suggestions on how I can unlock my HC220LE?

Cameraguy4 wrote:To unlock the HC220 series:
1) Turn the machine off
2) Lower the humidity dial to zero (If the dial isn't all the way down the machine will not go into the programming mode)
3) Hold down the ramp button on the front and turn on the machine at the same time. When the machine restarts you will be in the programming mode.
4) At this point if you turn the humidity dial and look at the LED window you can select from #0 to #5 by turning the humidity dial. Turn the dial and select #4.
5) Press the ramp button. The machine will re-boot in the unlocked mode and you will be able to adjust the pressure by turning the little black screw on the side
Enjoy your new found freedom to adjust the pressure yourself
But MY HC220LE doesn't have the humidity dial you mention here. Step #3 works as you describe here (the display shows "0" when restart it in this way), but since I have no humidity adjustment dial, I cannot do step #4. How can I unlock my HC220LE CPAP?

I thank you in advance.

This thread is way old and it is unlikely that those posters in the past are still here and active on the forum.

Check out this link for how to get the provider manuals for various machines to see if yours is listed...the manual will explain what to do.

http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual

I found the short version there...
Fisher & Paykel HC 220 & 220LE: On the side of the machine where the power switch is, you should be able to see a little small cut-out shape like a square, or hidden door. Simply push and pull down and it should slide off, under that there is a black dial that you turn up or down to change the pressure. (note: the right dial, not the left). Right in front of the adjuster knob is an LCD window that will give you the current pressure setting.

Thanks, but both of those lists only include ONE F&P machine, and it's not at all like mine. Any other ideas where I can find the clinician guide for a HC220LE?

OK, tell me if you've encountered THIS before. On the front of my F&P HC220LE there is a unusual hole. I discovered that there is a sticker over that part of the front panel, and when I peeled it back a few minutes ago, I realized that there IS a heat/humidity control under the sticker; but it's missing the knob (hence the odd hole, where the knob would go in). So, I think the instructions given here will work... if I can find a knob that'll fit that hole!

So sorry but that link and website and instructions are the sum total of my F & P knowledge. Supposedly the instructions work for the LE also.
I have never even seen a F & P machine so I have know clue about anything or knobs or whatever.

Just adjusted my 221 -( so glad to find these posts )

In case it helps, do you have the ramp up button to the left of the sticky that covered the hole? If so, it should start the process - get the zero to start programming. Then take a needle nose pliars and tweek the stub that the knob should fit?

Have hc221le but pressure is not enough. How can I turn it up. It's on 18.5 now. Tried resetting it but it goes back to 18.5. Is that the highest it will go.

OP hasn't been back to the forum in over 12 years.
Unlikely he cares now about this question.

Have been a cpap for over 20 years. My last machine lasted 17 years. I purchased this one online. Can't set it to where I need it. The highest I can get is 18.5. it's a hc221le. How do I get it higher. Have reset it several times but it goes back to 18.5. any suggestions...

I think that is probably as high as it will go.
See this link and the manual pages the specs. Looks like page A-8
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/81728 ... e=8#manual
Delivered pressure 3 to 18.

Thanks Pugsy, I have had my old machine for a long time about 16 years. It had been making a little noise. So I found a machine on line. It was a up grade from my. I thought it would work. A new machine was cost me more than I could do. But I will use the one I bought for parts. According to the link you sent me that was as high it went. Thanks again.

Does it look like the one I posted? Some of the older F&P's (such as the 200 series) only go up to 18.5. Note sure about the 220 series. I know that the 230 series goes up to 20.

Even if a new one is unaffordable, you can probably order a used one from secondwindcpap[dot]com, Amazon, or Ebay.
