Respironics REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP Clinical Manual

Post by tlawler » Mon Jun 20, 2005 11:14 am

I have been renting a REMstar Auto C-Flex CPAP with heated humidifier for a couple of months and after considerable fighting with Apria, my DME supplier, they are going to have my insurance (and me) buy the unit. I already bought the card reader and software for my computer out of pocket. The Apria tech does not want to give me the Clinical Manual that came with the unit. My position is that if I (and my insurance) are buying the machine, we should get everything that came with it. I already know how to turn the machine off and hold down the two buttons to change the settings. Three questions:
1. Is the manual really worth fighting over?
2. What other useful info is in it?
3. Does anyone have an electronic copy I can get?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,

Unless the NAZIIS filtered it out, you should have received it. Hope it helps.

Thanks again. One less battle with the DME. Is there any adjustment on the heated humidifier with the REMstar Auto with CFlex? I had a CPAP that I could dial in humidity. This machines humidifier is either on or off>

If you have the same humidifier I do, you can change the humidifier level. Turn the CPAP unit on. Hold down the humidifier button (located on the CPAP unit) until it beeps twice. You should see a number (1-5). Press the humidifier button to increase the number, press the ramp button to decrease the number. Once you have the desired humidifier setting, press the power button on the CPAP unit to store it. Hope this helps.

Thanks Brandy,
It worked. One more manual that the DME people kept.

You are so right!! I'll add: that the DME people kept, then sold on Ebay and made money off of, at your expense.
