Blood Pressure Monitor Equipments Types (please recommend)

I can attest to that. Mine goes up just visiting the doctor. He told me it is called "white coat syndrome" by the docs. Pre-surgery it skyrockets until they get the needles in me because I have such a needle phobia. Then I relax and it drops. My docs all know this about me so they tell the prep nurses to ignore my blood pressure until I have the IVs in.

I use both an Omron semi-auto digital Model 412CREL and a conventional analog meter/cuff unit from Wal-Mart. They agree closely with each other and the Mercury column unit at the Dr.'s office. Reliable, inexpensive!

Hi ALL,

Am Looking for reliable model and able to do some data collection for long term trend. It seems as not many BP equipment have these feature as in the medical conditions of tracking the trend of BP is crucial for monitoring and ultimately for decision making. Omron seems like a very reliable brand but nevertheless lack of data collection for data capturing for computer graphicall display. There are some brands out there and that have all these feature of data capable for downloading to computer analysis etc. Thamk you all for sharing the opinion.

GumbyCT, Am close to every where with extended virtual arms (X-marts just few clicks away). May I know about the spreadsheet. Thank you my friend and it is good to read your message. How are you?

PS:Been busy trying to loose weight, the last 10kg is so tough....I need a sharp knife...LOL.

My wife was watching a horror movie the other night and I noticed that a chain saw is a lot faster than a shrp knife

Anyway, the Omron I have (wrist unit HM-670IT ... I think?) can store data and download data to PC. I take morning and evening BP and I download every 2 or 3 weeks which is stored in a database for unlimited period ... the software for it is nice and I find it very useful. Amazon sells the unit for about $70.

Seems simpler to record the data and create the graphics in an Excel file.
