Mask Leak Charts

Post by RiverDave » Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:50 pm

For those of you who are interested:

I have compiled a list of 31 masks from the major manufacturers (Respironics, ResMed, Fisher Paykel and Hans Rudolph) and calculated the leak rates for each of them at pressures between 4 cm to 20 cm in 0.5 cm increments.

The values were calculated from manufacturer data (via 2nd order polynomial interpolation for you math folks). It's fairly accurate (better than guessing at the supplied charts, anyway). So if you're interested, PM me and I will be happy to give it to you in either MS Excel or CSV format.

Thanks,

Ya know......I took all that math in high school and college, but in my working life, I've NEVER had to use a polynomial equation. I'm glad that SOMEBODY can use that stuff.

Anyway, glad to hear that, Dave. Why don't you contact "dsm" and see if he can also put it on his website with the list of mask leak rates we compiled a couple of years ago.

Incredible. This should be sticked, IMHO.

Great work, well appreciated.
