Hi Honeydew-
I think you should be careful taking sleeping pills now that you know that you have sleep apnea. In OSA Obstructive Sleep Apnea, your throat tissues relax so much that you stop breathing and then your brain wakes your body up enough while asleep just enought to resume breathing but not enough to become fully awake. If your brain doesn't wake you up in time you could die in your sleep. When you are taking sleeping pills, you are using a drug that is acting on your central nervous systm to slow everything down including your brain telling your body to wake up just enough to breathe!!!
If you can get along without those pills please try to because they can kill you.
You definitely need a new mask.I have the Swift mask with nasal pillows and it has been wonderful. It will also take you time to get used to using your CPAP machine. You have to look at all of this as a process not a quick fix.You will have good days, and you will have bad days but eventually when you start feeeling better you will not know how you ever got along before your CPAP.
I have been on CPAP for one year now and I have learned a lot from this board. In comparison with where I was when I started,I have learned a lot and modified how I use my machine and accesorized to get the full benefit out of the machine and for my own comfort.I now look forward to my nightly ritual before I go to sleep and I know my machine makes me feel a lot better.
Now when I turn in for the night I take a melatonin (supplement that helps me get better REM sleep)take a drink of water and then strap on my mask and tie it on with old pantyhose.I also tape my mouth closed with Nexcare paper medical tape to prevent snoring from my mouth (which makes the CPAP not work to keep you breathing)I also put on an eye mask to block light coming in the windows that keeps me awake.I have been feeling better and better since learning thes elittle tips and tricks from the board here. You will do just fine.
God Bless-

I need to buy a full face mask in Windsor. Does anybody know where, in Windsor, I can buy a full face mask at a reasonable price?

Don't give up! I also sleep on my stomach and my right side. When I started, my DME brought me 2 masks, a Comfort Gel, which is what I had used in the sleep lab, and a Mirage Quattro. She thought I might like it better. She was right. For me, it is more comfortable and I don't have any trouble to speak of when I turn over. Occasionally, it will develop a slight leak but if I press the mask gently into my face with my hand and then release it, it stops the leak.

Anyway, that's just me. Each of us has to find his/her best mask. I just wanted to give you encouragement that one can find a solution.
