cpaptalk.com Booth: Denver APSS Sleep Conference June 20-22

Post by forumadmin » Tue Jun 14, 2005 3:26 pm

Greetings cpaptalkers,

The Associated Professional Sleep Societies Conference, or APSS, will be held on the 20th-22nd in Denver Colorado. This is a big deal as it is THE sleep conference. Attendees at this conference include 5,500 doctors, sleep lab administrators, and manufacturers but not one patient advocacy or support group. Cpaptalk.com has an APSS booth in the exhibit hall and we're crashing the party!

The purpose of the booth is to get the word out about cpaptalk.com. Those who visit our booth will be able to go online and interact with cpaptalk.com. Be sure to hang around cpaptalk during those times if you'd like to give our industry associates an earful. Live chat would be an interesting venue for such a meeting.

We will be giving away our newly created cpaptalk.com DVD, "Introduction To The Sleep Lab" which walks those who suspect they have OSA through the diagnosis process. We hope that new patients will be shown the video prior to their sleep study and will join our community if they are found to have OSA.

We have released an online version of the video with identical content. It can be downloaded here:

https://www.cpap.com/downloadVideo.php?VGID=58

When newbies come in wondering what the sleep lab experience is like, the video can be a quickly and easily referenced.

Registered cpaptalk.com users will also be able to request copies of our DVDs in order to pass them on their Doctors, Sleep Labs, or that friend who you KNOW needs to get a sleep study, but hasn't yet acted.

We are out working hard, pounding the pavement, and advocating a change in the way CPAP Equipment is produced and distributed. We are fighting for you and we need your help.

Here are things you can do:

1. Shop at cpap.com. Are our competitors looking out for you?

2. Post Targeted Topics. Post topics on the 20-22nd aimed at Sleep Lab Administrators, Doctors and Manufacturers. I’ve been glad to see an upsurge in the number of DME users lately and even happier to see that they have been treated kindly and sincerely. Each new DME user is a chance for us to clearly and respectfully state our case. Thanks for doing so!

3. Give Out DVDs. Very soon we will post a new section to cpaptalk.com, Videos. It will contain our “Introduction To The Sleep Lab” video and a form registered cpaptalkers can fill out to request a copy be mailed to them. Please get these into the hands of your Sleep Labs and Doctors. Push for them to be shown to each potential CPAP Patient! Place a few friendly calls or follow up visits to see if they are in use. Make sure that new patients will be guided to proper care!

Theo is preparing software that will make mailing out DVDs easy to do. Check our coming video section, as well as cpaptalk.com Announcement topics, for the latest news.

Thank you all for your kind words and your continued support.

Johnny
