Eye Glasses...Nasal CPAP interface.

Post by BigE » Wed Nov 17, 2004 8:21 pm

Thanks to 'Rested Gal' for some valuable info...relating to eye glass wearers using nasal cpap. There are times that I feel like watching TV...not quite ready to fall asleep...however, don't want to hassle with putting on the interface later...just want to take off my glasses and...SLEEP!

I would not have figured this out...Thanks!

I've pasted the eye glasses trick rested gal posted earlier:

It is a great tip to pass along!

BigE, a very smart lady (nickname: christinequilts) on another message board posted her method of putting glasses on and off without removing her Breeze. Let me see if I remember the steps correctly (too lazy to go looking for the post itself

Putting glasses on when the Breeze is already in place:

1. hold your glasses "upside down" with the lenses pointed toward your face, stems away from you.

2. turn the glasses sideways (still upside down) and slide one stem between your nose and the Breeze. Work the glasses halfway through until your glasses are sitting in proper position, although still upside down, lenses in front of your eyes

3. flip the glasses over to sit properly.

To take them off, just reverse the procedure. I thought she came up with such a clever way to deal with glasses and Breeze!
Sincerely,
wading thru the muck of the sleep study/DME/Insurance money pit!

I am sure that there are other new OSA/CPAP eyeglass wearers who will appreciate this knowledge. Thanks for posting the directions.

LOL- I thought everyone did that...I didn't realize it was such a big issue until it came up on one of the boards that so many people couldn't wear their glasses or were only looking at masks that advertised being able to wear glasses with like the Vista so I shared what I do every night.

heheh, Christine - you've always been good at thinking outside the box...the bipap box, to be exact.

Hey, eyeglasses wearers - the Swift (nasal pillows) would be a good one. Nothing over the eye area at all. (I still like the Breeze better, though.)

Thank you, thank you for the posting.
I 've been using CPAP for one week and was wondering how to manage the feat of wearing the mask and my glasses simultaneously. I've worn glasses for many years and love to read and I'm very happy that I don't have to give up reading and TV before I lay down to sleep!

Say, Rested Gal,
I'm a little lost browsing these posts. I think I missed it......
Again, what was the eyeglasses advice you had (nose mask users) the above poster thanked you for?

....So many great "experienced" posters with helpful messages. All are great, but I think Rested Gal oughta consider doing a syndicated newspaper column, she explains so well! .......

Gratefully,
Linda
