How many get BAD Cards? Vent!!!

Post by Lee2263 » Thu Jun 19, 2008 10:08 am

Okay, so my appt with the doc is this afternoon and I had told him I would get a report of what the first two week period was like. So I take the card in to the store and they hook it up, and................nothing. Yep nothing on. Like it was a blank card. I got a bit pissed. So the doctor is not going to be able to see any data from the first two weeks.

This is the sort of thing that really torks me off with service people. YOu get upset with THEIR equipment about how it works (like don't they test this crap before they send it out?????) and they take offense. Plus, when I told her her choice of mask was incorrect as in too small, which gave me an ulcer on the bridge of my nose within 3 days, she got pissy with 'you really don't want it so big you're going to have problems with leaks, yada yada yada'

I'm going to read the contract with this place and see if I can return the whole kit and kaboodle and go to a different place here in town. I'm already sick of this broad.

If you've had the xPAP less than 30 days, yep, you can return it and go elsewhere, IF your insurance is contracted w/other local DME suppliers.

It might be worth your while tho to go over this person's head and discuss your problems with the manager or owner.

I have tried 6 data cards in 4 different machines. One of those cards was bad (could not write to it). So that's a 17 % failure rate with my limited sample.

It pays to get your own reader and software, and save the gas and trouble. Jim

Since your profile is not filled in, we don't know if you can get complete useful data.

ooops wrong thread, nevermind

IF the card was installed in another machine and never setup/erased it won't work in yours.

I would suspect those that have been reading the card as the cause.

mine was "corrupt" when they tried to read it @ the MD's, but I suspect it is because I had some leakage from the humidifier...

but still...

I don't think water will corrupt a card.

Many folks don't bother to format the card before use - I think that accounts for many of the card problems but it wouldn't be a problem if/when the card is formatted.
