Night two on LT wasn't good. I was having allergy problems and was using a neti pot to clear but had to use nasal spray to clear enough for bed. As soon as I hit the bed the LT was noisy, the same problem I had after using nasal spray in the middle of the night on the 1st time. Got up and tried the KY Jelly that worked the 1st night and solved the seal problem caused after nasal spray. The LT was still making noise after KY and I just when to sleep with it. Woke up at about 4AM from the noise and I got the idea to try the Small size Pillow. The small pillow worked and it was silent again for the rest of the night.
This morning I did a mask test mode on the small pillow just like the Standard size both had got a 5 star excellent fit per Apap’s Mask test. So my opinion with the Mirage Swift LT is if you can hear it making noise you need to try different size pillows, try KY Jelly and adjust the two head straps. Also, you may get good results on one size pillow but that doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for you for every night.
Still love this mask but it has to have a great seal to work right.

I finally made it through a night with my new LT!! I used the smaller pillows and used the gel that someone recommended. Had a good nights sleep, the only problem I had was I still feel like I'm not getting enough air. When I woke this morning instead of he bridge of my nose red, my top lip had broken out!! Too funny, sometimes you just can't win! So now I can switch to the Simplicity to heal my upper lip and the LT to heal my nose, well at least I have choices!
Murphy - You're not alone in switching masks. I usually have several and when I get frustrated (or skin irritated) by one, I just rotate
And Babs, happy to hear about Socknitster. Will think good thoughts for her and her baby! Thanks for passing on the news.

[quote="socknitster"]I got my Swift LT from cpap.com yesterday. I tried it last night for the first time and it was WONDERFUL. Clearly and without a doubt the best mask I've tried so far. That is only one night, of course, but the difference was clearly apparant. First of all, it is soooooo quiet. It fits so nicely and gently against the nose that you hardly know it is there. When I turned over, it didn't budge. No leaks, no sound, no strap marks, no negatives so far.
The footprint is small. Side sleeping is not an issue with this mask as it is with the swift II. The headgear is also an improvement over swift II--no buckle digging into your occipital lobe. Velcro back there instead. And the hose routs up the center of the face like the opus so you can turn from back to side to side without issue.
I have been using the Opus 360 for about a week, and prior to that I was a long time devotee of the swift II. I hope that the LT continues to work as well as it did last night. The opus 360 is very similar, but doesn't have as much adjustment of the nose piece to get the perfect angle and it also is louder. The new swift LT also has double wall pillows which makes for a better seal. My overall evaluation is that it is just a little bit better than Opus 360--for me the extra comfort and quiet are worth the extra money.
One thing I have noticed about all pillows is that you must be sure the pillows are scrupulously clean every day and your nose must be free of all oil wherever the pillows touch, or whistling and leaking may wake you. The day I realized that, my sleep improved vastly. I don't usually wash my face before bed unless I've worn makeup--but now I am sure to always wash my nose and upper lip to be sure it is free of oil before bed and that makes a big difference in the leak and whistle department.
Hope this review helps. I am getting very close to delivery of my baby, so I may not be able to give further comment for a while. Best of luck to other early adopters of the swift LT--I hope you all will be as happy with it as I am since it is such a big investment compared to other similar masks.

Re: Mirage Swift LT
They told me if you used any type of lube the mask would move more and then the leaks may happen, but if it works for some, good, but if not that may be the problem.
if it leaks pull it forward and snap the nose back softly of course, moving it around actually does not work well. Take it away from your nose and just return it back into place. Wiggling does not seem to work. They showed me that on a sleep study.
i am using the small if anyone needs the medium or large pillows, brand new used once just to test size you can email me at hoomindy@yahoo.com
now my problem and please help, the silicone or something in the pillows are burning my skin. i think it is an allergy and have changed what i am washing them in. any suggestions anybody - i do not want to try anything new, but hate the burning feeling, so far i am lacing it with guaze as much as i can on my skin.
Hope everyone gets a good night sleep.
Anyone start a sleep apnea myspace yet?

Re: Mirage Swift LT
You may be reacting to the plastics in the pillows, but it may also be the soap you use exacerbated by heat causing contact with the pillows. Try using a soft damp cloth to remove all excess cleansing product or other product like face cream and see if it still reacts with your skin. If so, you may be allergic to the plastic. Find out what type of plastic it is. Probably not latex, but maybe? Probably silicone and some have been allergic to it although much rarer an allergy than latex allergies.Mindyhoo wrote:They told me if you used any type of lube the mask would move more and then the leaks may happen, but if it works for some, good, but if not that may be the problem.

Also, as someone who pays out of pocket for all my "hardware", I'd like to encourage those of you who end up with an LT and start hating it after a night or three to consider posting it for swap, or on cpapauction.com. (I just got outbid on one there the other week!)
I don't know if you finally got a swift LT but, mine is on CPAPAUCTION.com with 2 days left on bidding.

Re: Mirage Swift LT
The manufacturer say there is silicone in the pillows. i know i am allergic to condoms and medical gloves and sulfa. Never heard of being allergic to silicone before. Even when my machine is off and i have the pillows on it feels like a sunburn on my nose. anymore advice will be greatly appreciated.
Still having the same symptoms.

Re: Mirage Swift LT
I use Ayr Gel n my nares to help keep the nasal pillows from causing irritation. A very thin coat of chapstick seems to help also.

Re: Mirage Swift LT
I've just used the Swift LT for my second night. I'm using the medium pillow. The large was too big. I may try the small tonight, but I think the medium is the best fit for my air flow. I'm satisfied with the system thus far.
